If the game is ready, then get it released to everyone. It seems to be more of a punishment for those who didn't get the premium edition rather than a bonus for those who did.

Seriously, that might be a little bad practice, but destroying the industry?! That's quite an exaggeration, especially when there are some serious bad practices in the game industry these days.
That makes sense. They might wanna see how things hold up technically during the advanced access and patch it up or increase capacity before releasing it to the entire player-base.
Unless you ask the suits or the marketing department. To them, the early access is more than anything a sales gimmick. Staggering the initial blow to the servers is just gravy.
