At least we can expect a new or a rework of the chinese campaign from Tale of the Dork.
But their treatment in de3 implies that they steer clear from doing new campaigns and only make a compilation of scenarios that are unrelated to each other or at least are themed to new civs in that game with the setting and geopolitical circumstances.
There will be no new campaigns at launch, that we can expect.
LMAO!
Biggest change would be fixing some plot issues with the Atlantean campaign! "How did he cross the world so fast, and so many times? How are there suddenly so many zillions of Atlanteans working directly for the titans once they start appearing? What the hell was Arkantos doing that left the Atlanteans abandoned in the cold wilderness without any help from their allies?"
And not make them completely change technology, architecture and language basically overnight like in the original.
Yes, they lost their home, and that does justify drastic changes. But there should still be some recognizable aspects.
We know why that was the case in the originals. Because the developers didn't know they were going to add Atlanteans in the expansion, when they made the base game, and had to make the Atlanteans distinct when the expansion came out, in order to sell copies.
That's not true for the new version anymore, and they're also not working on inherited code like EE is, and thus have to remake or at the very least repolish every mission by hand.
If they leave the story exactly the same as it was 20 years ago, new players will have no clue why there are atlanteans in skirmish and multiplayer, yet Atlantis in the campaign doesn't have them, until 33 missions into the campaign.
