Please exclude "Tale of the Dragons"
It's an horrible unbalanced race, with uninterestings gods, an atrociously boring campaign that doesn't even come halfways close to the main campaign in quality, a quick cashgrab made by amateurs that tacks on the remastered of this game like an parasite. It's an foreign body that doesn't belong to this game, leave that out and create something unique and own for the remake that is actually worth it. Leave ancient chinese out of the equation it's way to different from the other cultures.

They should fix it, instead of just kicking out Chinese, for no reason.
I agree that Chinese mythology is just not as interesting, but it still has potential, and is the basis for all other East Asian mythologies.
They just need to trim down the bloat with the Chinese civ design, and push it much closer to Bronze Age China, instead of Warring States period.
Like, some people may not enjoy Chinese mythology but that's a purely self-centered reason to say it should be removed. If you ask me, the Norse gods are overall dull and boring (with some exceptions, of course) and I wouldn't shed a tear if they were cut in favor of more expansive mythologies. Heck, I only play the Egyptians because they aren't annoying to play (I'm a casual, high-tier snobs don't concern me though I do like having options).

The worst thing about the original AoM was how pathetically limited the options were, especially compared to AoE2. We need more and interesting options, not less.

From what I heard, if you just strip away all the mythology and Chinese paint, the actual mechanics of the faction were bad. *A* Chinese faction would be fine but they might as well just completely scrap what Tales of the Dragon gave us and start from scratch.

The entire faction was overdesigned, and poorly fit alongside the other 4.
The Chinese civ was VERY Late Middle Ages (including rocket troops) in a game where the most advanced stuff is from Alexander's day, a lot of it's myth units were not very unique, but outright copies of stuff the game already had, it had 3 types of Hero units, so you could not even use myth units against them (and yes, they all countered myth units), It's Tech Tree was full of redundancies (like having FOUR melee cavalry type units); and worst of all, it forcefully used nomenclature that immediately shut down potential other civs, like having Cataphracts and Immortals (both of which would much better fit a Persian civ).

Hello everyone,

I'm a China fan, I love the look of traditional Chinese buildings etc and I also played through the campaign. For me it would be a great shame if the Chinese didn't at least follow suit later. But I have to say I'm purely a single player and I can understand if they're holding the Chinese back for PvP for the time being. I love watching the streams of all the AoM PvP greats and one or two tournaments on Twitch. That's why I'm completely with you if the Chinese don't come into the game until much later. But please let them find their way into the game at some point. ;-)

this is another one of those terrible anti-suggestions, to remove an entire campaign from the game, that would ruin the whole point of having a remake version which supposedly upgrades the overall experience,

if anything it should have a new campaign as well for another nation such as the mayans or the babylonians

the introduction of the garbage china dlc was the only mentally unstable thing here bud

Would be worth removing it until it is fixed.

Could come back as a Free-LC alongside a DLC?

I actually would like to see the Chinese return in a DLC or an update, even if their implementation would be different from "Tale of the Dragon". It was nice to see a new culture in the game that wasn't a fictional extension of an existing culture (cough, Atlanteans, cough), and I do like the tropical jungle biome that the AoM:EE DLC added as well.

if you like tropical biome they could've gone and done something mythical about the african contintent or better something with middle/south americas. literally nobody asked for asia especially not since that it came out after the game was dead.

asia was the most diverse one that could be added at that point, african campaign would be too similar to egyptian, in fact theres some african tribal warriors in the egyptian faction already, and theres not a consistent pantheon that collaborates with that too, they are mostly ancestral worship,

but its true that mayan or babylonian or something would make a great addition for more campaigns in the remake, maybe even indian or something

The more the merrier - I enjoyed the whole game but was always a little disappointed in Atlantis instead of another new real-world mythos.

But... Tale of the Dragon was *SO* badly done that I can't imagine fixing it, so it's hardly doing the material justice to keep it.

So... hopefully they either dump it completely or redo it from scratch.

Nah. I want Chinese mythology and hope it'll come back as a form of DLC/expansion or whatever in better shape.

Personally I'd rather have a Celtic culture, followed by Mayan/Aztec, both of those are more interesting than Chinese especially in the way they implemented them. I'm hoping if they do include them it's after heavily editing them.

There is nothing to fix, just trash it away comletely, please!!
