Is the camera actually going to be that close, showing next to nothing and zooming in on details that no one is interested in beyond the first 5 seconds?

Strategy games were push in the Graphics Race and the hardware could not handle it - thus the camera had to drop down so the game could render less at the same time.
This was a big step back in RTS gaming throughout the years.
Since at least a decade, hardware has definitely been strong enough to counter this graphics-first mentality with its limitations, it can do both now.

The store page looks like it is still zoomed in way too much.
Is that purely to try and showcase how detailed things are, or are they representative of the gold release game as one would be playing it?

I've seen two YT videos explaining that we can zoom out like AoE2 DE (or farther out). I'd rather have performance issues and wait for a PC upgrade rather than not play the game at all due to the camera being way zoomed in.
