Norse playstyle works different from Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian by having Tyr available to all Majors for example and Hel being a Myth Unit spam option(if you somehow get constant favor rate) but gives you a great godpower.
I'm not exactly thrilled for seeing a company of heroes 2 commander situation which might set the precedent that this game will trickle new major gods going forward. Less problematic than new pantheons as they can't affect the asymmetry that much.
If it's a minor god, that is the best of both worlds and opens up the aoe3 design principle where you can have as many as 8 politicians to pick on age up, more options to pick a godpower and a myth unit and minor god upgrades is still better than a major god that will make ladder on launch unenjoyable. Happened already with Chinese on EE on launch, don't want another repeat.
if its a minor god though, means atelast one of the major norse god will lose one of its current god choices., which is kinda awful since it will change access to some strategies.
If a major god, maybe the difference can be made between the ages. For exemple, no norse god has currently access to, say, foresti-freyja and then skadi-njord. And for the last age, probably will be Hel and Baldr (as little as that would make sense unless you REALLY want heroes of ragnarok), if only because all 3 norse major gods we have right now already have access to Tyr. And or course, the starting god power and major god bonuses will also be different, which could be enough to make something unique
