New Pantheon Speculation
Personally I think Aztecs are the most likely candidate since we've been taking about them since the days of Ensemble. Persian and Slavic would be nice too.

Possibilities:

- Celts
- Aztecs/Mayans
- Incas
- Mesopotamians (Babylon/Sumeria, etc.)
- Persians
- Japanese
- Indians
- Polynesians/Maori
- Slavs
- Yoruba
- Voodu
- Bantus.
- Lots and lots of Native American mythologies from North, Central and South America.
- Romans (Yes, it is possible to make them very different from the Greeks and Atlanteans, in fact there are several possibilities)
- Christians (Controversial, I know, but it is possible, in fact there are several possibilities)

Furthermore, this mythology does not have enough Gods/ Heroes/ Mythological creatures, etc. Well, just because she's not popular enough for you to know her doesn't mean she doesn't meet the requirements. Smite is here to prove that it is possible.

My bet is Celts or Aztecs.

I think we might get a variant civ like they did in AoE 4

I don't understand. I don't play MP so I never bought AOE IV. What is Variant Civ?

It's basically a new skin option for a pre-existing civ. Their buildings and units get new appearances, they get new techs and units, etc. So here we would take the Greeks and modify them to be Roman. Zeus would become Jupiter, Hypaspists would be swapped out for Legions, that kind of stuff.

Gotta have Celts!

If we think by continent, I mainly expect a syncretism of Native American mythology. Japan would be an overdose of Asia, and Voodoo perhaps an overdose of Africa...

To complete this game, the Chinese and Aztecs are needed, then there will be a full set of cultures from all over the world, Mesopotamia can still be expected in the future.

I hope that after China it will be the Aztecs, as this is one of the most unusual cultures and from the point of view of mythology it is much more interesting than the same Celts, about whom so much is written for some reason.
The god shown between Loki and Poseidon looks kinda Mesoamerican.

A way to feed you DLCs for the next two decades with minimal effort from their side.
For example, the base game has French, but the expansion offers Jeanne d'Arc French with slightly different bonuses and a new dubious mechanic.
Technically, "variant civs" already existed in AoE2 with its copypasted nations, but now it's going to reach the new heights of monetization, as seen in the Freyr announcement.

I hope it's a pantheon that is new and fresh. I don't want to see them add the Romans, as that makes no sense.

Just for this, I am now going to design a Romans civ, and as we see with AoE2DE and AoE3DE, FE devs LOOOOOOOOVE to add European civs.

No, he is Oceanus, an Age 2 option for Atlantaens.

In any regard, Atlanteans always used Qechua architecture, with some Central American elements.

In the trailer, all other gods shown were major gods.
I also think he looks like Oceanus, but why show him among major gods? Does that mean they swap Uranos and Oceanus?

No, probably just threw him in there.

The Atlanteans take a very vague and obscure element from a lot of unrepresented mythology around the world and from this micro element of that mythology, some come and say that that is enough of this mythology.

Don't you like it when they say that the Celts are very similar to the Nordics, which is almost a consensus in pop culture and among the most uninformed, but you comes and does the same among with these supposed elements of these mythologies in the Atlanteans.

- Citizens and Gladiators are not even close to being the most important Roman elements. Where are the emperors, legionaries, centurions, senators, and other essential elements of the Roman republic and empire?

Ps: I'm against a Roman mythology on AOM RT, but what I said is a fact.

- Atlantean architecture may be loosely inspired by the Incas, but no one will immediately recognize as Inca, far away from the immediately recognizable Inca architecture of AOE 3, or all other mythologies already present in AOM.

Among other references to the mythology that the Atlanteans use small elements.

Depending on how the rework Chinese, we may get Persians. In EE, Chinese got both Immortals and Cataphracts, which left very little room for a Persians civ.
See, this is an example of one civilization taking essential elements from another to the point that it is almost impossible for it to be added.
