Stellar Blade. Wukong. 90% of indie games. 90% of japanese games.
Its VERY easy to find. That's where gamers are turning to since AAA are cutting their budget on writing for slop games and using DEI as shield
If THIS game is a 'woke' or not easy to tell too. Are they making advertising for being 'diverse'? Are they hating on white people? or gamers in general?
Are they using the skin tone and gender of the protagonist as a shield or can it actually stand on its own legs?
We will find out soon enough. And then all the cry on both sides will have their answer.
Can we give the SBI, black rock nonsense a rest? All I hear is how somehow SBI is blackmailing companies somehow, based off a video st some speech the ceo of it gave. You give them way more power than they deserve. And its always going to be a mixed track record. Some games will be good, some will be bad. My advice look into the game and see if you like it. Who cares if you get a non binary option? Enough with the weird gender ideology already anway.
I'll be real with you: People don't really care for the girl blackmailing the companies. The point is that people are very good in reconising PATTERNS.
And guess what?
Majority of games that advertised themselves as 'DEI' or had SBI failed. HARD.
Here some examples of games, big games that failed:
Forspoken
Dustborn
Concord
Starwars Outlaw
Saint Row
Unknown 9: Awakening
Dragon Age Veilguard
Flintlock
Suicide Squad
there are also a bunch of smaller games like ZAU and sim simulatos that are basically racist to white people.
All these games. ALL OF THEM, had the dev or teams laid off because of the lack of sales.
Suicide Squad - Rocksteady announced end of support for the game in January 2025.
ZAU - Surgent Studios laid off laid off the whole game development team of 15 for lack of funding.
Forspoken - Square Enix has announced that Luminous Productions - the development studio behind Forspoken - will be merged into Square Enix effective May 1, 2023. They literally disbanded the development team because of 'lackluster' sales.
Unknown 9: Awakening had literally a whole franchise with merchandise and spin-offs planned because they were very VERY sure the game would be a success. But now they announced that everyone backed off and there will be no future investment on it.
Like I said: PATTERNS. If the advertisement feels the NEED to announce diversity as a selling point the is a high probability that everthing else is BAD. At this point this patterns repeated itself so much that people are just JADED about it and any mension, warrented or not, about DEI on the devs or advertisement side of the game is a turn-off.
The dev Katie something of THIS dev team was very hateful towards gamers and as a representation of said game, she lost MANY sales for the team because of it. The majority that saw her posts and were either a gamer, male or female, were turned off because of it. But like I said, these people that read this things are at best 30% of the actual clientel that buy games and this game's only hope is the rest of 70% that don't care for it. But these 70% are also the people that only care for a game if its WORTH THE MONEY. And after 10+ years of patterns of games NOT WORTH money because of DEI and SBI, even THEM have become more awary of it.
Hope to have helped you understand the 'hate' around this.
Those games were all released long before anyone was aware of SBI and how insidious they are.
Times have changed.
100%. I never denied it. SBI are a cancer on the industry.
If SBI were not involved in this game I would absolutely buy it.
Instead tomorrow I will be playing Eternal Strands, which also features a FOC antagonist, but is untainted by SBI's involvement.
It's worse actually. As I've said before (not blaming you for not reading it but still), I haven't fact checked this but lefties saying "Gamers were a mistake" is colloquial standard. Just like the (abridged) Miyazaki quote "Anime was a mistake". Neither necessitates the erasure of it whatsoever. It just means that there are horrendous problems with those one way or another, while being exasperated about it.
And the video of that CEO is a nothinburger. It IS horribly ripped out of context, and even if we take the quote at face value, she didn't say it's what THEY do, she said this is something that employees of such companies should be doing, make their employers afraid to lose out on customers. Obviously it's being weaponised, twisted and ripped wholly out of context for very obvious ulterior motives: pushing marginalised people out of the gaming sphere.
And you have all the nutjobs claim that their insulated thoughts are representative of THE MAJORITY, at most they have their bubbbles compiled of regressive people that consist of a "healthy" mix of thinly veiled racists, white supremacists, queerphobes, you name it. Like look at all the people crying wolf about anti white racism. They are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ afraid of an even playing field and it shows. They're desperate. It's not worth engaging with them because they will refuse everything and stick to their pov no matter what. This isn't something you can call an argument, discussion, or any type of exchange really. It's what right wingers and trolls always do. They don't want to "debate", they just want to TALK and wear the opposition down with their relentless onslaught. It's nothing you can reason with as you would discussing things with a friend or colleague.
I have more but I guess this is turning more into a wall of text again and yeah, well, if you have the time, I said more before anyway.
Sounds like this game will be a hit then.
Have you read the post at all? It is not about 'agenda' its about patterns of bad games in the last decade
