Demons Roots

Please spoil me on the lore in the Execution Dungeon
I'm curious about "the tragic truth of this world," but it was taking too long to button-mash through all the whump scenes.

Not much to spoil. It's cruelty for cruelty's sake, and a way to control people. Das it. If you make it to the end, you die.

You get to visit it later on in a non Bad End way and check it out.

So we actually go down that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up maze in the main story?
It's an optional dungeon later in the game and you can go there to destroy it (if you manage to kill the boss).

It's just a place the Empire uses to divide and control people through fear. Reason for all the crystal balls, projecting the atrocities commited there. It's also a place to dehumanize others, for the sake of the greater good and such. It's all covered in the main story. DoReMi is for consensual sex, Execution is for brutal rape. Play through it if you want to see the main cast utterly destroyed and miserable.

I have to say, the bad endings in this game are the most brutal and messed up stuff I've ever seen in a game. I grinded all of them and managed to stomach it and watch it all, but jesus christ, it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Reading the prison diaries, watching the torture scenes and the tasks the audience demands from the characters, it's absolutely horrifying.
It's almost surreal to think that these scenes were written by the same person who wrote the romantic vanilla virginity loss scenes in DoReMi.
Alas, bravo to the developer. Making the audience feeling bad for anime characters is not an easy task.

So what’s with the tutorial where it says to find something or other in the dungeon in order to interact with the doll in the Bohelos marketplace and learn “the tragic truth of this world”?

You know, there's two thing this game lacks:
1. The option to hug the loli at any time.
2. A genocide run.

Go talk to the doll after advancing floors in the bad end to get game bonuses when you reload.

I don't want to do anything else with the horrible rape dungeon. I just wanted to know what "the tragic truth of this world" was. I assume that's something you get from the bottom level of the dungeon? Please tell me what it is.

Literally nothing. You make it to the end and a monster eats you.

The end.

You can get a password to unlock a chest in Bohelos from running the dungeon. The doll will have it. I think that's all. The chest only has a scroll that will boost your chances for insta kill during backstabs but the chance is pathetically low either way.
You get much more lore by going to the dungeon in an EX mission(in the holy nation). It sets up a certain thing which will happen in the main story. The souls of anguished slaves formed into a violent hive minded monster that's stuck between wishing for death and being too terrified not to obey... a certain important person in this story is the same kind of existence. But you will learn that in the main story so am not saying anything more.

"the tragic truth of this world" is simply that there is no other ending. No matter how strong you get, how many side quests you finish, who you defeat or how many difficult to reach corners of the world you find, this game has only one ending. No Alternatives. Even if you beat the hardest challenge, this story always ends the same way.

There is no secret Superboss or hidden NPC that will let you change the course of history.

And if you have seen the ending, you understand the horror of this explanation

So basically, in this world, The White from SMT4 were right?

I wouldn't say having all your ideals fulfilled, the world saved and having your loved one eternally by your side is bad tbh. Even if it takes you a thousand years in hibernation to get to see those things.
But people tend to disagree with me on this. Blessed Curse will never win, nor get what it wants. And i'm guessing it also loses in the end in King's Exit.

I'd say it's probably because the idea that King Exit happens no matter what causes many to then ask "How can anything be fixed if demonkind goes extinct no matter what we do?", wouldn't you agree that this could make many consider The White's solution?
