Demo Feedback
I initially started playing the game cause a friend of mine wanted to study for the art work. So I went in blind without checking much just to see what I can get out of it.

The first impression of the game for the first few minutes was really strong. I picked up the log entities, the atmosphere, everything screams that this was a horror game. The demonic candle lighting as soon as I wake up. The slow walk and taking in the atmosphere, the ambiance making me on guard on what to expect.

Then slowly by slowly I start to feel disconnected from the game. I don't know what I was suppose to feel.

The first log I picked up (The one with the whole getting killed, dark tears and all) gave me the impression that I was going to get either a jump scare after I picked up a weapon or fight an enemy. Nope, it was me fumbling around on opening the door.

It was okay for me at that point of the game.

Then as I continued to explore the game, I suddenly get introduce to a new character, a cheerful radio lady which I had no context to in this very dark atmosphere. My very first disconnection from the game. With zero context to the storyline despite trying to follow it, our main character just straight up accept a mission that they heard from a radio. Zero doubt on who the person is. I am just left to wondering who this person was on the radio and just started my disconnection from the game.

The other part I got curious was, who or what the main character is. I didn't seem to have pick up the story other than "Wake up child". That's it. So I tried to explore the world to see if there were any environmental story telling to get a sense of who our main character is or what are they even. Not much for a casual walkthrough that I did.

The second disconnection that I felt was when the game introduced me the "shadowy figure" that flickered across the hallway. That one genuinely have on the edge and made me look forward to what type of game I will be going into. I saw the circle, the multiple red eyes, it was circling, it was menacing, I was filled with anticipation, boom THE MOST GOOFIEST VOICE WITH AN EVEN MORE GOOFIER DIALOGUE.

It legit threw me off and made the whole game feel really disconnected from me (from story point of view).

From that point on, despite the strong atmosphere this game have, it was now down the drain for me and I just find it comedy. The red demonic candles? Funny dildo light sabers. The red pus oozing red balls that's covering the pipeline? Funny red pus to break. It turned into a comedy game with dark/red color scheme.

The other character, the one with the giant backpack felt like they were trying really hard to sound mysterious just from the dialogue due to previous encounter. And from that point on, I felt full disconnection from the game as I no longer know WHAT I was suppose to feel.

I no longer feel tense from the first few minutes of the game, I wasn't sure if the game was going for dark horror comedy genre. The game fluctuate very hard in terms of internal experience for me as a player and I start to no longer care about the story.

This is for story point of view.

Onto the gameplay.

The gameplay, I see some people are not really happy about the autoaim, personally for me, I wanted to see how the game wanted to expand on it and is looking forward to it. I can see it being beginner friendly as it definitely had bullet hell style genre feeling + doom. However, the lack of dash really made me feel like I'm just playing a generic bob and weave shooter. I did not feel pressured from the enemies (which maybe attributed to the beginning stage of the game so I won't say much) but there wasn't much to feel mechanically in terms of gameplay.

Thanks so much for taking the time to play our demo & leave your feedback! It's all very much appreciated & passed along to the team.

I can't address all of it right now but I can say (without spoiling) that although the demo takes place in our tutorial level there is actually a part of the game that comes before it which does introduce the characters, the setting & what's going on so I can definitely see where that disconnect comes in!

Mouse, I tried the demo. It's a beautiful and immersive game, one that I was super excited to continue, but I quickly realized where it was going with the MC. I'm not throwing hate but I was really looking forward to playing this game as a "straight" female which has gotten extremely rare in games. I have a strong sense of DEI/wokeism in the demo and in your description of the game in an online article. Sadly, I cannot, in good conscience, purchase it. Just letting you know because many others will feel the same way.
