Consider Mazus with a Flowing Rune. I suggest him over Tengaar, because Riou is a fast healer (he'll heal right at the start of the round), and it looks like you need one slow enough to heal the party after they soak some damage. Tengaar is a bit too fast, if I recall right, and so is Luc, but Mazus is slow enough that the boss should deal some damage that he can clean up.
Keep in mind the Mother Earth Rune's ultimate protection spell only lasts a limited number of rounds, so you'd need to reapply it. That might also be tripping you up. A couple of extra applications of the magic absorb spell doesn't hurt either.
Tir is definitely a solid choice to bring along, though. Slap a double-jab and fury rune on him, and he becomes a DPS God. Nuke with the fourth level Soul Eater spell, and then destroy the boss with your staff.
That said, you've definitely got a melee/non-magical DPS heavy party. If you're happy with Viktor/Oulan, I'd recommend getting rid of Clive and Wakaba for Mazus and Tir.
The weird thing is, Clive SHOULD be pretty OP/Busted with the right rune set-up. You're using Fury, Double-Jab, and Double-Strike/Edge, right? The final boss is all magic damage, so that extra physical damage taken shouldn't be an issue.
Clive only get one rune slot. He has high hit chance and speed.
No way to make him OP.
You made a point of slower healers, which is a good idea. I have a Spark run equipped however so I will need to remove that first,
I could've sworn he got three in the second game, but I think you're right. Well, regardless, if he's not pulling his weight as a DPS, you're better off replacing him.
