I can already picture the wave of negativity about Suiko3 early ps2 3D, the map/transition zones, thomas chapters and the rushed endgame, suiko5's early pacing, the few brutal missables, and well, most of Suiko4 actually.
S5 is when they decided they experiment so much on S4 they think it doesn't work, that's why they make S5 with the same formula like S1 and S2. While this looks good, it makes the story very predictable.
TBH, it's not really Konami fault or anyone. It's just no one can replace Murayama vision, even with Junko Kawano help.
The bad thing about Eiyuden is how they toned down the story for all age ratings. The plot was okay but the presentation and pacing is bad.
