Suikoden I Gen event bug

Currently stuck. After you go to the whirlpool and talk to Gen it's supposed to trigger the event. I spoke to Gen before I did this and now it's stuck with him saying what do you want now? Anyone else experience this bug? if so any way to fix?

Well I'm glad it's not just me. Hopefully they update it soon. Sucks you can't progress. There's literally nothing else you can do.

Yes I've done all that. I've played the original Suikoden and never had this issue. So found it odd that it would't progress.

It's not the whirlpool. It's the rapids that you're supposed to go to. The whirlpool is in the north. The rapids are in the south. You have to actually touch it as well.

Did you touch the rapids? Have you visited Milich's mansion first?
