Game breaking black screen bug in S2

First hour spoilers ahead:

After the MC and Joey get dragged away in Kyaro town, a cutscene featuring Viktor and Flik should be triggered. Instead the screen stays black until I press menu and then puts me in a bugged version of jail where NPCs think Jowy is in the party and essentially the rescue never happened. So you can’t advance the game.

Help!

I have the same problem... Going back to a save a bit earlier didn't help.

I didn't have this problem, but had a somewhat similar issue in Suikoden 1 with a scene not triggering correctly. I ended up getting through the scene by running it in windowed mode.

I tried everything - verifying, reinstalling, earlier saves, etc.

Only thing that worked was to use my other PC without SuikodenFix, and start a clean playthrough. Couple hours farming double jab runes down the drain….

Yeah, this seems to be something that's being caused by SuikodenFix, not the remaster itself. Everyone I've seen with this issue has mentioned they were using that mod.

I have a save file right before I enter Kyrao with a handful of the double beat runes and a party equipped to beat Captain Rowd if you want.

Would sure be helpful if it happens to others! That was the worse part… I lost 4 double jab runes :(
