Richmond not returning investigation

So I turned off the Clive timer which stops the game time and sent Richmond on an investigation and he has not returned. Had an issue like this in the emulated version of the game which was only solved by turning the timer back on waiting 10 minutes then turning the timer back off then starting a new investigation.
Anyone else have this issue?

No. I have not had this issue. In fact, while at work, I leave him running and going constantly with the timer off and he returns usually after 20 minutes. I wait on a screen he isn't on for the 20 minutes.

I have the Clive timer off and Richmond has done half a dozen investigations for me already. You may just need to wait longer or spend more time outside your HQ.

At first, Richmond is next to the lady that stores your items, but then your castle evolves and he will move to the barracks (I don't know how it's called in the English version, sorry). I think it's on the ground floor, on the left from the big room where Luc is.

Ahh there's the issue.
Took your advice and looked around the whole castle and found him in a different location.
I remember I started an investigation at castle level 1 then when I came back from Two River it was level 2 and he moved location after that, I kept looking back near the storage area and assumed it was just bugged like on console freezing time.
