Suikoden 2 softlock

After Rowd arrests Riou and Jowy also gets taken away, they supposed next scene where they meet in jail doesn't trigger. It's just a black screen and when I press the menu button, the screen appears and I'm inside the jail cell with Nanami and Mukumuku. The doors are open and I can just exit and walk around Kyaro. I tried reinstalling but I still got the same problem.

If you used the Save Anywhere feature, the modder did say be careful with softlocks.

Other people have had this issue and just removing the mod wasn't enough. The save file itself was borked

Yes, I went back to the mod page and I read that it's the transition mod that causes it. I did start again just with no transition mod and the event triggered.

You are right. I'm sorry. This is my first time posting and I didn't remember I had it. I should have mentioned it as it is actually the cause of the glitch.

i have the same problem but ive got save anywhere set to false so its not that its just the mod as a whole which is a shame im only using it for the toggle sprint and faster game speed, the sprint toggle should have been part of the base remaster IMO.

i still love the game ive still got my original discs in mint condition on the shelf.

I've had it on since it was released and never had issue so that's weird

I found in Suikoden 2 I would sometimes get the black screen if I was using the fast forward feature. Turning it off usually sorted the issue for that specific scene

You can cheat but you have to be smart. I use cheatengine to force a faster game speed and keep the clock where i want it. Some cheats screw the game, like having infinite health on unwinnable battles or things like that.

Eh you can break it without cheat engine. Apparently in S1 you can still attach over 9 rune pieces and if you attach too many water pieces, you'll heal more than Neclord damages you for and can no longer progress lol.
