Suikoden Star Leap
Mobile game... they got the wrong message and the next Suikoden release that isn't a port remaster or remake is going to be a mobile game.

Free to play,

up until they decide to kill the game like many many many MANY other mobile games ='(

....well... heres HOPING!!! with every fiber of my being, that the game comes to console/steam

that way it "could" be buyable AND.... playable in offline mode and not having to worry about google play or whatever deleting the game =/

then ofcourses theres the whole gecha crap where you just KNOW some of the stars will be paid for content =/

They said in an interview that all 108 stars are obtained through normal gameplay, the monetization and gacha element is just for fan service characters from previous Suikoden titles, so you can completely ignore it if you have no interest in having, for example, Luca Blight randomly in your team or whatever haha.

That's what they've said in interviews anyway, guess we'll see when it comes out. I do hope it comes to steam though, I hate gaming on mobile
lmao ill pass on luca... he might get stab happy and kill little piggies XD

dont get me wrong its not a do or die thing with mobile games....
most games always end up getting killed off...
just like my phones battery lol.....

ill consider giving it a go tho....

more so if it comes to pc tho :P
Idk why people are expecting Suikoden 6. If they can sell low effort overpriced cash grab remaster and a pay to win predatory microtransaction mobile game, why would they bother with Suikoden 6? Stop thinking like a gamer and start thinking like a business investor.

My dislike of gacha trash out does my love for Suikoden.

This pretty much sums it up. SO LAME!!!!!
Take it with caution but *apparently* Odessa will play a big part according to the ones who read Famitsu article in japanese.

They already confirmed it's a gacha game on the stream.

No, if you were listening, they said all of the storyline 108 characters can be gotten naturally. However, there will be some gacha and events for characters outside the main story (which I assume will be from the other titles) and that you can eventually form your own "dream team" of heroes.

Please don't spread false information, it just makes anything you say anywhere else less credible.

Can you explain how that doesn't make it a gacha game? The game has gacha in it thus it's a gacha game. I said nothing false.
I dont play pay to win mobile gacha garbage even if it is Suikoden. Even if its Final Fantasy Tactics. Hoping this is not that.
I'll be skipping that title unless they bring it to PC/Steam Deck, I'm not playing on my iPhone and killing the batteries in minutes LOL!
As someone who is radically opposed to mobile games, I was pleasantly surprised by FF Brave Exvius (spiritual successor to FF Tactics).
The temptation is simply too great for modern companies to squeeze the weak-minded player into spending real cash for virtual pebbles. As long as the base game is good, who cares if you miss on the extras? Don't forget that Konami is basically a company that lives of gambling machines.
Get the game, but don't pay one cent more for gimmicks.

I dont understand the logic of blaming companies. It's a free market. If someone sells a terrible tasting very overpriced burger with terrible materials, yet everyone buy it and it became the most profitable, surely you should blame their customers if all the other shops stopped selling other things but this crap overpriced burgers?

"Real cash for virtual pebbles" wouldn't exist if nobody buys those pebbles.

You're right BloodyPork. In an intelligent world, companies make both: on the one-hand-side, they have profitable products that appeal to the masses (and their lower instincts), while they also use the surplus of cash to finance quality products (to educate, for prestige reasons or out of passion).
Therefore, I can relate to the frustration of people towards a purely profit oriented policy.
Furthermore, gambling is a very real addiction (with financial consequences) and many people are simply too weak to resist it.
Entertainment should not be predatory. Finding a middle way would be fair.
The same goes for leasing or paying a subscription. It pushes you to fall prey to consumption, instead of enjoying what you have. When you buy a product, you should own it fully.
Try to remember the golden age of the internet, when modding communities were vastly improving the games 100% for free. It's a mindset that heavily influences how young people grow up.
The same goes for art in general: how many great works were financed without there being any thought whatsoever about profit?

This is why regulation comes into play. So companies don't just go full exploitation mode. For example we have casino laws where casinos are regulated. Without regulation, many companies are just going for maximize profit mode which means microtransaction because that is very profitable.
