Final Fantasy 12
Crisis Core
Suikoden 1-2
Lunar 1-2
Etc
Oh Flame burn them!!!!
FF XII, Crisis Core, and Lunar are from different developers entirely.
Gachapon themselves aren't bad. It's how they're implemented. If it's mandatory that they be purchased to play the game normally then that is obviously not the way to go. With what little information we were given through the interview its a given that were are getting whole new cast of 108 stars in this game. Another thing they mentioned was that they were careful to not disturb the established continuity. So having a number of these past characters meet in this story would obviously ruin the continuity of Suikoden I where some of them meet for the first time. This would mean that characters that appeared in the previous games will merely be making cameo appearances and some may even be temporary allies. Now here is where the gachapon come in. They said that you could create a dream team of characters of past games. I am going to bet that you'll need to purchase gachas to gain these characters as permanent allies. So while we did see those past characters featured in the trailer they are technically not part of the Stars of Destiny.
It isn't that they don't know we don't play mobile, it's the other way around. They KNOW we don't play mobile, and are ACTIVELY TRYING TO BAIT US with "brand recognition" in order to rake in the cash on their gaming casino.
They're basically trying to force us into the casino by saying "If you want this series, you have to come here to get it!"
They know. They know DAMN WELL that we aren't playing mobile games. That's the PROBLEM that they're trying to "fix".
See, this is what I'm waiting to see regarding Suikoden Star Leap.
Going by the existing games and their mechanics, there isn't much room for gacha mechanics outside of characters.
I mean, what are they going to do? Have Rune Draws for crystals?
Fire Crystal, 1 Star.
Rage Crystal, 2 Star.
True Fire Crystal, 3 Star.
What's next? True Rage Crystal at 4 Star? Super Omega Ultra fire Crystal at 5 star?
At most I could see them inventing a whole lot of runes over time that introduce power creep, but if they're exclusive to characters (like the True Runes would be), then you simply get them by getting the characters, one would imagine.
wait....what.........
noooo............ when i saw that there was a new suikoden game coming out i almost jumped out of my skin....
but if its a mobile game.................. (sighs)
aHHHHH
The important thing to remember is that the HD remaster was step one in their 3 step plan to revive the franchise. It sold well higher than expected so they are doing step 2 which is the mobile game, a manga and an anime series. If all those go well then step 3 will be a full continuation of the series, so I'm guessing new mainline titles and potentially remasters of the rest of the series too.
I don't want to get my hopes up too much but I can't lie that I'm pretty excited for the future now!
up until they decide to kill the game like many many many MANY other mobile games ='(
....well... heres HOPING!!! with every fiber of my being, that the game comes to console/steam
that way it "could" be buyable AND.... playable in offline mode and not having to worry about google play or whatever deleting the game =/
then ofcourses theres the whole gecha crap where you just KNOW some of the stars will be paid for content =/
