Mobile game... they got the wrong message and the next Suikoden release that isn't a port remaster or remake is going to be a mobile game.

Quite sad to learn this. Especially with the mention of it taking place after 5, basically messaging that this is Suikoden 6 in all but name.

I think Konami misjudged what platforms their fans use to play games. SE also tried to bring their popular IPs to smartphones, and it didn't work well. I believe Star Leap will end up in the same way.

Visuals and character design look really good, but I don't see myself playing a Suikoden title on a phone.

I am glad the franchise is getting a new release, but I couldn't care less for a Suikoden mobile game.

I'm not sure they will ever remaster the rest of the games. I do think they might eventually do a new mainline entry.

I'm still holding out hope. The stream isn't over yet and I see Japanese asking for 3-5 as well.

Wow... just wow. I hate mobile games, gacha and their limited lifespans... but DANG the quality of spritework, animations and some of the music is just stunning. AND they aren't punting into the story into alternate worlds/timeliness nonsense. So even though I have strong doubts, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how they handle this. It LOOKS way better than any new Suikoden we've seen in ages.

It's on mobile because they are going to have a way to nickle and dime you. I don't play mobile games.

The only reason to go mobile is a perceived larger market. The only reason to go after a larger market in mobile gaming is for microtransactions.

If the game is something like Final Fantasy Dimensions 1 a full game with small mirco transactions i'm all for it. If its a gacha game with small story stuff and timers i'll read about it and watch it online

You're probably right. And I don't spend a dime on microtransactions or predatory monetization. But the optimistic part of me appreciated the artwork and hopes it might not be as bad as most mobiles are, or at least lead to future Suikoden. I wouldn't mind Suikoden 6 being in in this artstyle, at all! And it's interesting they're introducing another of the True Runes.

Yeah, I'm probably too optimistic :D

On the one hand, I quite mobile games ages ago when it became obvious you're expected to shill out cash to keep up.

On the other hand, this is a Suikoden game, and would potentially be worth the struggle...

Granted, I doubt it'll be global, so that probably takes the choice of playing it or not out of my hands anyways. I'm sure Culgan will be able to keep up with it and provide lore videos for us lazy people who don't have the will to translate it ourselves.

(Edit): Awwwww damnit. Star Leap features the True Rune of Change. The rune held by the leader of the Sindar... Now I WANT this to be available globally...

Do they usually give games English titles and not release them globally?
