Is it still censored?

Yea, all the pentagrams had their edges curved or removed.
Crucifixes are gone.
Blood is black.

Still got the flesh eating spores, "bribing" the guard, forcing a guy on a date, and underage drinking though.

They removed more than this honestly. The seal of solomon (made up from the alchemical symbols for the elements) is gone from the opening cinematic of suikoden 1, replaced with some meaningless squiggle design instead and the resurrection rune has been taken off of the new symbol leaving only the 5 runes where before there were 6, one at each point

thank you, so i will ignore that this exists :)
Like, the remasters or the fact that originally the two bandits were crucified?
the remasters i try to not buy anything censored in any way or form. Sometimes it happens by accident but it can be avoided with research or simply asking in a board.

Oof, from Germany.
Remember for a time you couldn't have anything with blood or ninjas in it? lol
Dude 11 MAR a las 17:21
we could it was just a hassle. you had to specifically ask for an imported version and proof you are of age then it was possible or in some cases (like duke nukem 3d back then) they released uncesnored but again you had to ask for it cause it was not allowed to promote it.

Well yeah like everything but... why ninjas? lol
Dude 11 MAR a las 17:35
i do not recall ninjas being a problem specifically (i remember playing ninja gaiden back in the early 90s). it mostly was violence or symbols from an intresting part of german history.

i found after short googling that uk renamed ninja gaiden to shadow warriors are you refereing to that?

ah does seem to be mostly the UK, I had read Germany also censored ninja during the time Castlevania Bloodl-- The New Generation censored the blood.

Dude saying it's not tinfoil hat conspiracy and yet cited Project 2025. Dishonest to the end.

Also what censored items?
the ones mentioned, like the blood, crucifixes, and a few other minor items.

Nothing major, but still annoying.

And yeah, I figured he's being a disingenuous.....person. Jokes on him though. That kind of stuff tends to backfire if recent history is any indication.
Oh thought you meant actual items you find.

I'm not sure if the Remaster has them in the Japanese version. They were in the originals.

Since there does not appear to be a government or government agency has demanded "this content may not be available in our country", no censorship has occurred. Instead, self-filtering has occurred.
you both should stop turning this topic into a political topic before a mod comes and slaps both of you XD.

the game got censored because of western audience being too sensitive ... like it is with ALL japanese games. thats simply it.

You say that like right wing Christian Groups speak for every westerner who wants to play this :P

Don't be dense, these types of censorship applied back then too. Some were pre-emptive but don't forget Ocarina of Time's Fire Temple and Tekken 6 having Allah on the ground of one stage...

Sure and there's Dragon Warrior removing references to Christianity (because they realized how offensive it would be to - not the left, but rightwing christians of the 1980s). And a few games removed some age inappropriate clothing, redressing a few young female characters, like Sudeki. It's very common for content creators (even in the 1980s) to ask "Who is likely to be offended? Offended enough for us to care? Offended enough for us to lose money? I mean, would these people even be customers if they weren't offended?" and sometimes the answer is "If we include this, it might alienate potential customers and turn them against us but if we remove it the very few who care are going to be a group of whackos who are mad that a child character is appropriately dressed and that's hard to defend anyway".

Religious image censoring - yeah, in the age where fanatic religious groups commit acts of violence against people (and their families) who they feel insult their religion, it's easy to self-censor. Note, these same fanatic religious groups are also insulting everyone else, they're allowed to insult but not allowed to be insulted - but even though once again, they've always been aligned with the rightwing, let's blame DEI or "the left".
Don't muddy the waters with facts. They don't want anything to do with those yucky facts.

Oh yes, like this fact. The og S1 censored crucifixions, yes. Now what Konami game came out afterwards? Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. What did you see when using the cross sub-weapon or Richter's item crash with the cross? Jesus crucified, not tampered with at all from the Japanese version. The Bible sub weapon? Still had a cross on it. Pentagram and Bat Pentagram (even though that's much more significant to Jews than Christians but w/e)? Still there. I guess the big bad Christian establishment was either asleep or must really like Castlevania over that Suikoden trash.
Wanna go further than that? Phantasy Star Online let you use the Ten Commandments as a weapon. Complete with its Greek name and the description: "Strange stone tablets that can supposedly part water."
How about Shin Megami Tensei? Everybody's here like Smash Ultimate. Except Gabriel anyway, remember how the first SMT Gabriel had a snippet in his description about being the one who dictated the Qur'an to Muhammad yet that part was dropped in later sequels while it wasn't even here yet or even in any Muslim country.

As far as that guy saying Theo Von is behind it and that Trump is following it, give me concrete evidence and I'll take the L.
