Suikoden I - Any way to get to Lvl 99?

The title says it all. Read that if you get some characters to this level in S1, they get a boost in S2. But giving on how the leveling system works, I think this isn't possible through grinding.

It is possible... it'll take you a week or so but it's possible lol

Not that I know of. You can go from lvl 36 to 96 in one battle very easily at Morovia castle with the fortune rune and a two man party, but you will have to grind out the last three levels.

These are the only characters you need to level to 99 with max weapon level 16 that will carry over to your Suikoden 2 as follows:

McDohl, Viktor, Flik, Humphrey (including equipment), Pesmerga (including equipment), Clive, Stallion, Kasumi, Meg, Hix, Tengaar, Futch, Lorelai, Valeria, Luc, Sheena

For the others, just a waste of time unless you're a completionist for personal achievement

I'll try this! Never ported a save with high levels on the transferable characters, and would like to see the bump, even if it's just symbolic. Thank you.

Thanks. Already knew which are the ones that appear on S2, but was only questioning myself on how to level them. As far as I can remember, Pesmerga's gear didn't went to S2 back in the day. Right?
