They did use those names in old screenshots of the remasters (even in the Japanese footage), so Konami does consider those the official names. They'll likely use them in the anime too.

In Suikoden, the Hero (nameable by the player, though known as "Tir" in official material) is the son of a Great General of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Teo McDohl.

Indeed, they announced an anime adaptation of Suikoden II shortly before this game's release in a livestream. Suikoden I will get a stage adaptation instead, which is something I guess.

Wouldn't it be better if the anime was a new story though ? Unless it simply takes place during the events of Suikoden 2, or something like that.

There's also the mobile gacha game coming. Apparently it's completely playable all the way through including getting all 108 stars of destiny. The gacha element is that you can buy characters from other suikoden titles if you want, to make a dream team of sorts, but it's completely optional and is just there for monetization. It's a prequel to Suikoden 1, set somewhere to the east at the start and then a lot of it takes place in the Scarlet Moon Empire, so you'll be in Gregminster , rockland and all that again. Seems like Flik and Viktor will be returning as well as Odessa before she was the rebel leader, when she was still nobility.

There's also a manga adaptation of that mobile game coming.

They said that the current remaster was 'step one' in Suikoden's revival and because preorder sales were above expectation it was considered a success. The Mobile game, anime and manga are step two. And if they succeed, they will push onto step three which will be a full revival of the franchise, so more mainline titles and probably remasters of the rest of the series too.
