since I don´t enjoy playing with a guide it´s either miss ALOT of stuff or skip the entire game.
The perfect ending is gotten by finding all 108 stars, that's it, the rest is all optional.
But a few of those stars are "miss-able" meaning if you don't get to them within a certain time doing a certain thing, you'll miss them forever and won't have another chance to recruit them.
So just search what those are then enjoy playing without a guide with no risk of missing out.
EDIT: Or you could mess with the internal clock.
I think I remember there was an epsxe hack that would allow you to reset the internal clock to trigger the missed events so you could recruit the few characters locked behind said timer
Why is people even playing games with Guides nowadays...
Do people not bother to play, explore and experience anymore?
There is a cutoff point near the end but it's not too hard to cycle to a new save file after major plot points and going back if you want to get true ending.
That's really all you need to know if you want to both get the true end and not use a guide, granted there are some chars who can be a pain to find/ get without one.
You can turn the timer off in the Suikoden 2's ingame settings.
