This game is built on that version of the game, so it literally is this game. They just didn't give the fans options. Look at the Lunar 1 and 2 remasters. Why couldn't they give us an option like that?

What's the point? You can play the originals anytime or emulate it in 4k with a few seconds of setup.

According to modders on discord who are currently looking through the game files, it seems this was a planned feature at one point but they scrapped it for whatever reason. A lot of the original backgrounds/objects are still in the game.

Such a shame, would have been a nice feature considering the original graphics have a timeless charm to them (I do like the new graphics though).

Too bad. This is always a really cool feature, getting to switch between gfx options on the fly so you can compare them. Oh well, I'm still happy our beloved series got a new release even if it doesn't have everything I would have wished for.
