3-4-5-Tactics may or may not come also depends on the Director of the game series in charged.
JP gacha games always live fast and die fast. Only the ones that attract the biggest whales survive and that doesn't mean anything for the series. Once the money dries up they mothball them and pretend they never existed.
But there was a Star Ocean gacha, a Breath of Fire gacha, and a Wild ARMs gacha and they didn't mean ♥♥♥♥ for the future of those series.
Also, 3 is bad, 4 is worse, and 5 is the only other good game in the series. Tactics is alright, certainly better than the game it was based on, but it's nothing amazing.
Man I miss that Star Ocean Gacha. Was super happy pulling the Nier Collab and they absolutely wreck the game difficulty with their damage numbers.
Also wtf didn’t know there was a BOF Gacha let alone a WA.
4 was okay, but god I hate boat travel in games. Here, lets grind while the scenery doesn't really change. Snore. The rest was generally okay, except this is also where they abandoned the ongoing story to do prequels and stuff only remotely related.
5 was great, but still suffered from being a prequel.
If anything Hugo was the one I was the least interested in, if I had to really compare.
I loved that I could get to know the 3 of them and choose.
It was a welcomed originality (with the trinity system) that I wish I could see more.
I think it's really captivating to jump between point of views.
3-4 teams has great advantages as well. It makes you play a good amount of heroes as main characters and gives different atmospheres so there's more chance the player can find at least one part they appreciate.
I like that it makes the game less predictable in some ways. Too bad it's not something you see much, at least in games I know.
Which is weird because I've finished Suikoden 4 about 4-5 times and everyone else despises that one haha... I think if 3 was remastered I would give it one last try though and try to stick it through
As far as I know, this remaster was step 1 in their Suikoden revival plan. Step 2 is the mobile game, manga and anime so if they go well then they'll move to step 3 which would be new mainline games and maybe remaster/remakes of the rest of the series too? When they were asked if they are considering any more Suikoden remasters they said 'no comment', which usually means 'if we get enough money and interest'
So for those reasons I too would love to Remasters of the rest, especially 3. Others had suggested remaking 3 in the same art style as 2 and I'd be totally fine with that, especially since it was the story I liked best. It sounds like a lot of work, but hey, it looks like they put it into the gacha, so why not a real game?
And then of course, continue the dang series and story! No more prequels!!
