Also did you notice the strange filter? It's like an element other games use when you're playing a dream sequence or seeing flashbacks. There's an odd visibility bubble in the middle of the screen, centered on the protagonist. The edges of the screen are a little bit darker. You can only tell in relatively dark surroundings and only if you move but it's there. I don't like it.
I usually would have highlighted the dialogues, since they've changed them a wee bit so ithey sound more whole than in the original. But then again... at some points they don't quite add up and leave guessing.
I also don't like the sprites on the HD backgrounds. They either need to implement an option to switch to the original background graphics or have to polish the character sprites. Not gonna happen, I know...
I also forget old games are more realistic. I put some good items on a character only for that character to leave for story reason, bringing all those items with him instead of returning it to us lol. So make sure to put all important items on main character haha
That's called development oversight, it's not programmed realism.
Other than these, I'm very pleased so far. I thought the new footstep sounds would annoy me, but I surprisingly like them, at least on Suikoden I (haven't tried out II yet).
