As much as I would've loved it too, I feel it's a miracle that a preset of options have been made at this point lol.
By, "stronger," I wonder if that means they hit harder, or just have more HP. It's the easier way to make the game harder, I suppose, but it feels lazy and boring. Hopefully they add new functions to enemies instead: healing, stronger debuffs, etc... but I don't have much hope. I'd be shocked if they even gave boss encounters an extra attack or two.
Not really good news tbh for a slew of things and a lot dont share the same sentiment of harder Luca or the game in general.
I guess I've just played the series so much over the years that I'm pretty happy about any kind of changes that can add a degree of freshness.
Most would be happy with a new entry tbh or even a reboot of the series, the remakes are good and all but it wont change anything, in the end it is the same ol game.
Of course I agree with you: a new entry would be preferable. As we all know with Konami however, they don't really take a whole lot of risks these days when it comes to games. However, at the very least a whole new generation of people will get to experience this series for the first time and for the rest of us who have played them through and through, it'll be a nice trip down memory lane with some improvements. I'm not sure if everyone out there will be happy with all the changes (or lack thereof), but getting the word out about this series to people who may not have heard of Suikoden is a step in the right direction and most certainly is the best shot at seeing a possible new entry.
I'm sure the Eiyuden games have helped convince Konami that the Suikoden series isn't completely forgotten and has a strong fanbase online.
Or perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about lmao. Oh well.
Agree that would be best but other than the fact that it is a niche rpg, it has its playerbase and i would bet most sales would be from nostalgia, i mean look how little the game is advertised, and the interaction on platforms is around few thousands. Konami needs to push it more, and not change the game for "moder audiences". Here's to hoping.
