I was like it’s just a little spurt of red no big deal!
Still have my copy, it is certainly a fantastic game even for its age
Back than most SRPGs didnt allow you to do random battles.
It wasnt until FFT that the concept of Random Battles in a SRPG started to become mainstream.
fire emblem did not allow random battles, shining force, kartia, basically the majority of SRPGs released back in that day, were without random batles.
after FFT and Tactics Ogre, all SRPGs started having random battles.
I was 10 years old, and going around telling all my friends how it was the best game in the world because of the blood shed.. I remember going to a friends house and showing them vandal hearts than we watched deep blue sea...
In Vandal Hearts II HD Konami can remove the need for skills to open chests and find hidden items, but the "Move at the same time as your enemy." need to be maintained. I think they can make the following change to the skills: instead of the weapon learning the skill, the characters learn the skills; the skills should be learned by characters, not in the weapons. So if, for example, you equip a sword on the character, he can use the skills he's learned with the swords he's used before without having to transfer skills from one sword to another.
Honestly the not overleveling was a highlight of vandal hearts for me. forces you to think about your decisions and give you enough xp and other resources to beat the game but doesnt allow you to grind and do it easily.
