remove Clive side quest timer please!
as you know for this side quest Clive and his story with Elza...
you need to play fast and be in certain in-game time to watch the dialog between 'em

and that's super lame, since you can't enjoy 'offline' game by that!

anyway, am asking please, remove the timer for this quest.

It's been confirmed in an interview that the time constraints on Clive's side quest are not being changed or otherwise adjusted.

I agree, it's a shame.

There's this thing called replay and replay value. There are many such hidden things in the Suikoden series. Don't see no reason to change it, if you want to earn something then work for it.

Nah, this kind of time limit doesn't belong in a Suikoden game at all. It's directly at odds with the overall strategy for collecting and finding stuff, which is to go everywhere and do everything.

It's like if you unlocked a racer in Mario Kart by not just coming in last but actually taking over 20 minutes to finish a race. It's just, not what the game is supposed to be.

Don't really see how that anology fits but okay. I just think you don't want to put up the work to actually reach the goal.
For me when I play the games I like to max all my characters and give them the best gear and collect everything that is possible (even those 1% drop items) and I do like the challange but maybe that's my OCD talking. But it does belong there and it's intended to be there as a different experiance run.
Now you may not like it very much, not everything is for everyone but it is what it is. Same most people play the game from start to finish without collecting even 50% of all the items or even bother to collect all the characters or even level them up, but just wanna finish the story. But I don't like that so I play differently.

Meh, once I found out about the timer, I decided not to even bother. I instead took my time playing through the game. Back then, I didn't care about getting each and every star for the 108 ending, and I still don't now, at least for Suikoden 1 and 2.

In Suikoden 4, 5, and Tactics I made sure to recruit all 108 stars though.

I don't like it either I did it once just to had it done, but I like to run around collect things instead so I never bothered to do it again. I never like to speed run games. I play games for enjoyment and there's no enjoyment when you breeze thoughg the game and skipping everything.

In no way will I ever try to speed run Suikoden 2.

Well I don't find the timer beneficial but if they are so unwilling to make a minor changes like that it gives me faith they will not change crazy things like difficulty setting and other pandering things.

Completely agree. I don't find that to be a fun way to enjoy the game. I guess I can see the Clive story on youtube.

Someone will either release a trainer or cheat engine table that allows you to reset your time or pause it.

While many will cry foul on cheating, I used a timer code on the PSX version to see all the Clive events without having to stress about it via Gameshark.

Agreed!
This is why I also play with action replay codes specifically to reset the in-game timer to 0 hours played around that point.
Makes the game much better.
Especially when using the uncap framerate option on the emulator to speed up the game in some parts.
That, and codes to fix the bugs with the recipes and some items not showing up.
Oh, and the name glitch from importing from Suikoden 1.

I've played the game without before - so can appreciate being able to explore my own 'directors cut' version with my own edits. Consider it the hidden True Rune of Emulation.

just use cheat to reset timer , iam not speedrunner eighter

In this case, I will have to cheat the game again to reset the time! lol

Honestly, one of the major problems of the timer has been resolved though. And that was battle speed. Instead of losing like 2/3s of the timer to battles, you now get 4x speed and thus should have more than enough time to do anything (unless you're just standing there AFK, then that's kinda on the player imo). But I'm gonna try for it even with doing the 108 battles before the jump, so I'll let you know! (unless i play during work in which case I will afk for hours and do it next playthrough xD)
It is what it is, I plan on playing it to get all 108 then in plus mode taking my time
