I've read the complaint about the price so many times I'm sure my answer will be read by some even if it's not directed to you!
It's all good.
(I'm currently facing that in the Palworld forum, from people whining about the Twitch drops on a few bonus skins. Steam forums can be a rough place sometimes)
Yeah, the price is actually quite fair.
$25 each is a great deal, even if they had been just 1:1 ports of the originals, let alone enhanced remasters.
My only reason for hesitating is if I have time for an RPG. I rarely have time for long, long games anymore.
I'm still tempted to go for it anyways.
(These days I prefer shorter, snappier RPGs. Like Super Mario RPG, about 20 hours long, if that. But, maybe I can work it out how to do these games in reasonable time.)
Technically, this ip, suikoden is a succour to capcom's destiny of an emperor. I forgot but 500 to 700 players to choose to be in your army, and unite China. Nes, Nintendo 8 bit.
Saying that, yea suikoden is ok for next gen.
I already have I and II on the PS1 and the PS1 is still working, so I'm not exactly in a hurry to get it here. Now if it were Suikoden IV, then I'd definitely grab it on day one. Not that I don't also have Suikoden IV, V, and Tactics, but IV and Tactics are my favorite.
Suikoden 1-5 are some of my favorite games. I hope 3, 4 and 5 get remastered too.
Nice. I feel like 4 is under-appreciated.
Almost nobody shows up in 3, and the few that do don't really tell you ♥♥♥♥. Also, three is TRASH in comparison to 1 & 2, which are, hands down, the best in the entire series. If you're avoiding because of 3, the WORST in the series (or 2nd worse, depending, some say 4 is the worst) then you're missing out.
Point is, if you thought THREE was good, when it's always either last or next to last in Suikoden Tier Lists? You're gonna LOVE these. Also, S1 is very short. Easy to beat even with work and other stuff interfering. S2 is longer, but WELL worth it. When you play these, you'll understand why so many think 3 was utter trash in comparison.
Trust me bro, it's worth it.
1. Pre-ordering physical copies IS in fact, to guarantee "your copy". The WHOLE POINT of pre-orders for physical copies, is to help the stores gauge how many copies they need to order - they order enough to cover the pre-orders, plus more for sales based on how popular the game seems to be. If the one particular GameStop you happened to work at didn't do that properly, that's your local ♥♥♥♥♥♥ management, not "physical pre-orders are scams".
2. Based on what you said, - something I agree with mind you - you don't want a game that has been "updated for modern audiences" and therefore has a bunch of modern political correctness thrown in. The problem comes in with the fact that this is completely and utterly at odds with what you said before. Why? Well, because that would mean that you ARE in fact, here to play "Suikoden with updated graphics" because anything else, would mean you DID want the "modern audiences" adaptation, since if you didn't want the updated graphics, you'd just emulate and play the OG that way for free.
Basically... you said some stuff that was fine, but some of what you said was just patently absurd nonsense.
Similarly the Suikoden translations are a bit rough in places. I'm hoping they clean up some of the rougher translated parts that are basically machine translation without doing a full rewrite.
Well, yeah, of course I read up on the material.
But also, events in 2 did play parts in 3's plot.
Like looking up who Lilly, Lucia, and so on were (admittedly, Nash is still a mystery). Or the fact some of those story events of other Suikoden games were done in theater plays.
I had been hesitating because of time, not content.
I haven't touched 3 in years, for that matter.
In any case, I probably will go for this, just for the heck of it, and cause I was curious to see the events of 2.
Also, geez, this isn't a popularity contest.
I liked 3, nothing will change that.
Even if 2 is amazing and superior to it as everyone says, then great I look forward to enjoying it too, but I'm not going to hate 3.
You're talking to someone who enjoys Mega Man X6 and 100%'d it a dozen times, despite how hated it is by people.
I'm not limited in the amount of games I like.
you have HD background and sprites ugly as f*ck, and no new content, so much report is a joke
