Any chance they'll fix the "McDohl bug" in 2? (mild spoilers)
I realize an updated translation is too much to hope for, but I'd like to see this one bug fixed. For those who don't know, the protagonist from 1 shows up in 2, and if you carry over save data from 1, he'll have the name you gave him.

At least, that's how it's supposed to work. Instead, he keeps the last name "McDohl", but with the first letter of whatever name you gave him. For example, if you use his canon name "Tir McDohl", his name in 2 will be "TcDohl." Not every version had this glitch, just the US version, so am I right in assuming they'll fix it here?

I would be genuinely surprised if they didn't fix that and other bugs. Mind you it gave me a bit of a chuckle when I first saw it and is a fun little quirk, but I would like to see it fixed too.

I'd be shocked if they didin't at the very least fix all the bugs and typos. Of course it's a remaster so they might make entirely new bugs and typos that didin't previously exist too.

They can patch and fix those later on if they do make new ones tho, couldn't do stuff like that in the PS1 era.

They should fix the terrible translation as well.

God, I didn't realize that they actually have the wrong use of 'You're' and 'then' in some sentences. lmao

I mean, I certainly wouldn't hate it if a more modern translation team were to take a run at things. I just don't know if it's especially likely for a game that's mostly just a remaster, rather than a full remake. Apparently a couple of the more egregious things actually are going to be fixed, but to your point, who knows what will happen with the grammatical things like the tenses and plural forms that seemed to happen repeatedly. The translation wasn't terrible by late-90s standards, but that's a pretty big qualifier.

They often fix errors and bugs in remasters so I don't see why they would leave in all the ENGRISH.

If we made fun of 'grammarnazi' every time they try to correct our grammar, THEN the newer generation will use the wrong form of it.

"Oh, gee, we should of not made fun the ancient 'Grammarnazi'."
They're probably fixing any of the glitches that they fixed for the PSP version.

The remasters where re-translated to be accurate to the Japanese scripts. They where demoed at previous trade shows...

Main thing is to have those bugs fixed like broken earth rune spells (I think in first game, the defense boosts don't work), but like we needed it unless they add difficulty. Think it would help a lot if we got a remastered soundtrack too but doesn't look like we will.

Why won't we get a remastered soundtrack? Where are you getting your information from?

Features of Suikoden I & Suikoden II HD
・All background illustrations have been upgraded to HD
・Updated effects breathe new life into the pixel art animation
・New environmental sounds effects to immerse yourself in this fantasy world
・Battle SFX are also now HD and add a new level of realism
・Newly added auto-save
・Battle Fast Forward
・Conversation Log

if they are going thru and changing the battle FX and environmental sounds, I'm pretty sure they will HD the music too.

From all the gameplay videos they shown, heard nothing but the original soundtrack and there's no mention of a remastered soundtrack on the features anywhere on any site. I just have my doubts they will bother remastering it lol.
