But I think the better path would be to make a Copen sidegame that occurs in between 2 and 3.
The ATEMS update seems to be the last one, unless they plan on more.
Could be more after ATEMS but nothing on that
Isn't GV3 decades after the second game? That kinda explains why Copen isn't on the game anymore. Too old or he already died. The only reason he became a robot in Luminous Avenger was for him to save his sister.
He could still be alive, but as an adult, or he could just be dead.
Perhaps but we already know who the next two bosses are, and Zed being made playable will be the last of the content we get.
Which is possible, but I wouldnt expect something that was never promised.
I personally wouldn't expect anything either. I'm honestly shocked they're sticking to the update plan after all the blowback the game got. They're at least stalling for time to add the totally-a-new-character-but-not-really I guess
In terms of gameplay, everyone can easily agree that they know what they're doing with 3, so give them as much time as they need. Its the story where its more mixed.
I don't know how that's shocking. The game is by and large very well received (not even close to polarizing like iX2), and most of the "blowback" is just complaining about the dropped plot threads from the last game, so of course they'll stick to the schedule with story content.
I don't think so... I've been seeing a ton of disappointment from all kind of players for a multitude of reasons. Chain retention getting axed (making GV's scoring potential zero), the whole character swapping thing being reduced to a crutch, them abandoning the melee focus on Kirin and her becoming Copen 2.0, melee doing ♥♥♥♥ for damage even on bosses, the Skill Image Pulses being almost entirely dead weight, the dedicated GV modes encouraging him to play like Kirin anyway, the score requirements being either absurd without Zonda and a joke with, level design generally being obnoxious, the camera being questionable in several spots, Kirin XX getting kneecapped by not being able to use passives, Kirin XX not making it to trial mode, Zed also being a total Kirin clone with seemngly no stage layout or boss changes, trial mode making the terrible requirements even worse... It goes on and on. Even on the gameplay side people aren't happy.
I'd of rather they just crapped Zed out and skipped the story and extra bosses. Hell, reports indicate he's just gonna be a handicapped Kirin because of course he is.
Reason they even came up with the Arc Chain is due to not being able to figure out how to make tagging + sword slash interesting and fun. So they made the arc chain as a main mechanic. That’s why the old teasers for 3 never showed it.
Level design is pretty subjective. I’d say it’s fine, probably the best out of all the games in the series, but like the other games they are built around the character gimmick. If you don’t like flashfield tagging, GV stages will be worse, if you don’t like enemy chains and floor/ceiling bounces then Copen stages will be worse. Kirin is similar but the gimmick is arc chain
Kirin XX being able to use all pulses would be incredibly broken, so that was probably a way to nerf her slightly. She should still be usable in Trial Mode as a separate category though.
