Screw Bossa Studios
They already had a similar title to this called world adrift, then abandoned it. This is world adrift to with a different title and they will likely abandon it in a couple of years too. Wasting my money.

Another person and another post which is completely oblivious to the history of WA or the shut down.

Nothing of importance here, feel free to move on.

They didn't abandon it? This is Worlds Adrift, rescaled into a self hosted survival game with way more content.

What's to know? People paid for a game they can't play anymore, and Bossa will happily sell them a new game, that's really the same game with a new skin.

MMOs have upkeep costs. Steep upkeep costs. Not enough income, steep upkeep costs, mean it gets shut down. if tomorrow you boss loses money by keeping you employed, he's going to fire you. Same stuff here.

Solo games don't have upkeep costs. Buy, and play until the heat death of the universe. Or until human stupidity kills us all. My bet is on the later.

Circumstance and context is important, but if you (Not saying that you are particularly) or others wish to be blindly angry then go for it.

Like I said, there is nothing of value in this post. Just ignorant lashing out.
They like to perma ban people that talk about this. That should say enough there.

I agree rarely but i agree with you here...

Those Hate Posts are just annoying
Instead of beign happy that Lost Skies bring back Worlds Adrift in some sort, no they hate speech it because they think they have the right to be offended.
IF you don't like the company, don't support them. If you don't like the game, don't play it. If you don't like the community, play by yourself. It's that simple. But if you're here to tell everyone who is happy to see this that they shouldn't be... GFYS.

Its annoying to see people being so oblivious of what happend to Worlds Adrift and call it abandoned without even trying to understand what actually happend to it.

Worlds Adrift didnt get abandoned but taken down because they could not afford to keep the servers active, while also developing the game.
They had no choice but to stop working on it because they had no way to gain enough income to keep servers and development going.

I believe also it was running on an obsolete hardware type? Or was it software? Either way technically it was dead.
let the sheep have their money stolen, man, it serves them right

In that time not really obsolete, but they were indeed using tech that was just looking promising compared to what they could deliver: SpatialOS. And they had to pay Bosa had indeed to pay the price in the end by not needing to close down WA because of its heavy depending on that tech and not being able to pay the immense upkeep that came with it.

Glad to see they did manage to find enough money and a publisher to support them to rebuild WA without that tech and a better scope that should be reachable as well: co-op instead of MMO.

And to end I had plenty of hours in WA to pay for the costm yes sadly it never got into a release state and it became unplayable (even removed from our accounts). But I am not regretting spending money on it, Unlike other developers that just pushed an unfinished product to release just because they were burned out and didn't want to finish it.

Sure, circumstance can matter but the end result is also important. The skeleton was there, are you telling me they were just so pitiful that they couldn't add co-op elements to the game and get rid of the server hosting. NO, why would they do that when they can re-skin it and resell to make more profits.

I'm just saying, i bought the game and in my 17 hours of playing it, i ran into 1 group of people (wasn't even aware it was an MMO at the time). for it to shut down a month or so later.

You don't understand. Without that expensive hardware the game was DESIGNED AROUND they would have to rebuilt the game from scratch. Wait . . . They did! THIS game.
