Nothing of importance here, feel free to move on.
What's to know? People paid for a game they can't play anymore, and Bossa will happily sell them a new game, that's really the same game with a new skin.
MMOs have upkeep costs. Steep upkeep costs. Not enough income, steep upkeep costs, mean it gets shut down. if tomorrow you boss loses money by keeping you employed, he's going to fire you. Same stuff here.
Solo games don't have upkeep costs. Buy, and play until the heat death of the universe. Or until human stupidity kills us all. My bet is on the later.
Like I said, there is nothing of value in this post. Just ignorant lashing out.
Those Hate Posts are just annoying
Instead of beign happy that Lost Skies bring back Worlds Adrift in some sort, no they hate speech it because they think they have the right to be offended.
Worlds Adrift didnt get abandoned but taken down because they could not afford to keep the servers active, while also developing the game.
They had no choice but to stop working on it because they had no way to gain enough income to keep servers and development going.
Glad to see they did manage to find enough money and a publisher to support them to rebuild WA without that tech and a better scope that should be reachable as well: co-op instead of MMO.
And to end I had plenty of hours in WA to pay for the costm yes sadly it never got into a release state and it became unplayable (even removed from our accounts). But I am not regretting spending money on it, Unlike other developers that just pushed an unfinished product to release just because they were burned out and didn't want to finish it.
I'm just saying, i bought the game and in my 17 hours of playing it, i ran into 1 group of people (wasn't even aware it was an MMO at the time). for it to shut down a month or so later.
