Would be nice if we could get a MMO-PvP mode again sometime in the future after the singleplayer/co-op version of the game is finished and fleshed out.
Devs have stated none of that is in the pipe or planned works
In my opinion there should be survivors of the calamity around (npc settlements around arks, raiders and such), and those will leave wreckage around which can be scanned of ship parts, that would be a solution to the old WA experience.
Oh yeah I do remember finding old abandoned or wrecked ships. It's a bit of a conundrum for me because I really don't like PvP games generally, at least not as a solo player, however WA I never had a bad experience, only friendly ones with people willing to drop nice gifts for me as a noob.
However, as night follows day, I know that as a game becomes more popular, griefers emerge. I did enjoy the idea of PvP/PvE regions being separated by storm walls though. Very nice idea.
I guess I like the idea of my own isolated game world, but I miss the random findings. Maybe there could be a feature where discarded items can get propagated to private/lone servers without the whole MMO/PvP technology being necessary. (I assume the reason for no MMO/PvP is a technology thing.) Hopefully sometime in the future when their tech gets better they can add it in as a DLC or something. (Got to finance it somehow.)
