Lost Skies

Lost Skies

Something I really miss from the previous game
Something I really miss from the previous game was finding random stuff that someone else had discarded.

I would often find stuff I had no skill yet to build - but I could still use use them. Things like engines especially, someone would upgrade their ship but instead of recycling the old engines they'd just discard them, waiting for someone like me to find them. Or wings, or panels. I used to love finding engines much better than the ones I had, or better wings or something.

I could then discard my own old stuff ready for someone else to find & use. Ah well :)

Finding old wrecks from other players was a big part of the game too. There was a sort of natural storytelling which was really cool.

Would be nice if we could get a MMO-PvP mode again sometime in the future after the singleplayer/co-op version of the game is finished and fleshed out.

Yeah I used to have one of the best engine schematics in the game back in WA. Would leave engines here and there in the noob areas when playing :)

Or what also would be possible i think at least a trading hub island, where players can discard their duplicate schematics, and other players can pick them up. Or if anyone is willing host such a server lol.

In my opinion there should be survivors of the calamity around (npc settlements around arks, raiders and such), and those will leave wreckage around which can be scanned of ship parts, that would be a solution to the old WA experience.

Oh yeah I do remember finding old abandoned or wrecked ships. It's a bit of a conundrum for me because I really don't like PvP games generally, at least not as a solo player, however WA I never had a bad experience, only friendly ones with people willing to drop nice gifts for me as a noob.

However, as night follows day, I know that as a game becomes more popular, griefers emerge. I did enjoy the idea of PvP/PvE regions being separated by storm walls though. Very nice idea.

I guess I like the idea of my own isolated game world, but I miss the random findings. Maybe there could be a feature where discarded items can get propagated to private/lone servers without the whole MMO/PvP technology being necessary. (I assume the reason for no MMO/PvP is a technology thing.) Hopefully sometime in the future when their tech gets better they can add it in as a DLC or something. (Got to finance it somehow.)
