Lost Skies

Shipyard is available in tier 2 and tier 5
Is this just for me? Shipyard is available in both tier 2 and tier 5, and if you buy the one in tier 5 it just swallows your data and gives you nothing, and still shows as if you haven't bought it.
Bought it twice before I realised it wasn't just my mistake. Now I have to hope there's enough data scans in the demo to be able to unlock the other stuff I wanted

actually that expands the amount of ship sections you can add in the ship designer
it may be bugged as i was able to spec in to it twice and still showed as acquirable i got all my other stuff before i spent my last 2 points on re-buying the upgrade

  • After unlocking the one in tier 2, you can build shipyards of level 1.
  • On tier 5, those shipyards get upgraded to level 3.
  • Any shipyard already built before unlocking the shipyard on tier 5 will remain level 1 afterwards. You'll need to disassemble them and build a new one in it's place to get the upgraded version.
  • The better shipyard allows you to build a bigger ship (from 10 cubes to now 14 cubes).

you can buy it again to get a level 6 shipyard with 20 sections buildable. it will still let you buy after that but it doesnt level up anymore

Is it possible to build the shipyard in the demo? I am not able to get it. I need more of something, and does not show as accessible when I go into the ark, and access the computer there.

You'll need metal ingots and an Atlas shard, which are refined in a furnace from ore gathered from mining nodes and atlas dust harvested from shrimps.

(You can also use scrap metal instead of iron ingots if you have enough sitting in your bags, but you'll need iron to craft your frame.)

...press B to open the build menu.
actually you can get it up to 20 + if you find all the data banks
i found an additional 2 for 20 cubes and then found another 2 else where ive yet to check how many cube i have now

Oh, that wasn't clear from the description in the computer. Did it say that somewhere and I just missed it?

I now have 2 atlas shards.
I have 10 steel ingots, and 50 iron ingots.
I have the quest "Unlock the shipyard schematic at the Ark computer"
When I go to the ark computer it tells me to spend 1 to unlock. I do not have 1 to spend.
I have 1/4 left of the experience to get, before I get 1 to spend.
How do I get the rest of the experience? How do I get that one point to spend? I have no other quests at this point, I have been mining, killing and harvesting wood and animals, etc.... but no idea how to get this point. Is this a bug or did I miss something?
You need to scan a second databank with your PRISM to get another data disk: there's five on the island, and the closest one to the ark computer is where the red drone spawner was. It looks like a high-tech trashcan with a bunch of orange lights on it.
Man, the double purchase means I ran out of data disks and didn't get to buy the upgraded grapple. Really leaves a sour taste on what is already a very underwhelming demo

This triggered an old Terran quote from OG Starcraft in my mind : "Battlecruiser operational !"

There's enough data disks to buy that upgrade 3 times and all the upgrades so long as you didn't buy it 4 times your good
