Schematics?

OK, so, Cannon Schematics are a pain to find.. still not got one.
Spicy Tomato sauce is literally everywhere.
I've learned schematics for a small Engine, but no option to build it.

The upgrade for schematics doesn't seem to work.

I'm guessing the upgrade and the engine schematic is likely a Demo limitation, but what's the deal with the ULTRA RARE cannon schematic, and the 'in every box' Spicy Tomato Sauce schematic?

Strange, I kept finding propeller schematics but no engine. Someone else says you need both an engine and propeller schematic to actually make one. Similarly I've found one machine gun and three cannon schematics, and even unlocked a scrap cannon barrel and a scrap cannon base so I can put those on any of the three cannon types I've gotten.

The upgrades.... while I see options in the menu clicking doesn't do anything so it's probably not implemented in the demo. Probably should have just greyed it out and said 'available in full game' or similar.

I wondered if we need a duplicate schematic to upgrade it - unless you've tried it? I know it says in the description that we need the Briefs to do upgrades, but it doesn't say how many you need or if you need anything else as well (like a dupe)

Personally I'm subscribing to the idea that they disabled the ability to build engines entirely so that no one can leave the starting area. That said they also prevent us from learning any Tier 7 unlocks in the Ark Computer and more blatantly say this when I tried. No map table for me.

...I also have no idea how I found two full cannon schematics and three machine gun turret schematics but maybe try exploring other islands if you're still on your second?

I finally found a Cannon 2 schematic on the last island available to me.. :)
I've tried with dupes, and I have over 100 briefs...
No joy, so am guessing it's disabled in demo.
