What am I missing about the bad drone spawner?
How can I kill this thing?

shoot the yellow part when it opens up. it wont open if there 3 drones out so kill one of them then when new one comes out shoot opening

Just don't scan anything in the room before you're told to do so, or you'll fail the (following) quest locking you from advancing :(

I wonder if this is my issue. I defeated the drone spawner and started scanning things without instruction. The drone we followed is now missing and I cannot get the chest next to his dock to turn green.
