There is so much in the demo that cannot be experienced. With 30 mins left I was scrambling to obtain materials for the research bench, unlocking all the schematics I have been discovering, then getting mats to build the new items. 10 mins left and i gave up.
Managed to throw a machine gun on my ship, I don't know if its a bug or broken or just not implemented, was firing making sound but not affecting/hitting the mantas I was aiming at.
As I stated even an extension of the demo would be wonderful. Not to mention more opportunities for feedback.
...I just hope I can listen to the song that plays when leaving the first island again, was cutting it short because it was getting late.
The song "Take to the Skies" does not play again unfortunately :(
As a WA player, when I left the tutorial island my first time and that song started playing it became a very emotional experience.
I assume your talking about the time limit? I haven't tried using atlas lifters holding onto a floating cube. But it only activates on your first world. Keep you character fill your inventory before your time limit ends, quit to menu and start a new world. All progression and inventory is kept. All data scanned is kept but theres no time limit activation once leaving the starting island.
If you simply don't complete the demo goals you can keep playing indefinitely. When you get to the mission to destroy the Spawner and then scan the databank, scan the databank WITHOUT destroying the spawner.
The game will keep you locked on that objective even after destroying the spawner until you scan another databank.
Before you scan any databank after this point make sure you stockpile all the wood and iron you'll need in the future so that you never get to complete the iron and wood collection mission.
At this point you can easily build your ship and go explore the rest of the game without any time limit.
Pretty funny they did such a sloppy job with their demo limitation and gave out a demo that contains so much from the full game.
oh no no no no I learned me lesson last time when Worlds Adrift was out, no more EA! Too much heartache!
besides that the release of a demo suggests the full release is on the horizon soon maybe hopefully?
...feel like this is related but I went the way of the OP and just rebuilt the world. Didn't bother doing any of the ruins objectives beyond lingering long enough to get a new ship built, sailed off into the wild blue yonder without the time limit starting. Did not destroy any Drone Spawner until I got to the new island and found one guarding loot.
Is there, for any the rest of you, a giant tentacled whale creature; the Seraph or Herald or what have you; that spawns shortly after that spawner in the cave under the tutorial island's Ark is destroyed? Because I swear I heard the effects for that playing shortly after I destroyed the spawner on the second island, but I did not see it anywhere.
Heck, think I saw it in the distance a-ways from said tutorial island while I was flying off...
