Bug with Kim's Phone/Phone Thief

I have bought the tv. Put it in my house. Then been offered to buy a tv, which I did since the last one didn't work and this one hasn't either. I buy a tv, put it in the house, try and talk to the spirit, but it refuses to acknowledge the tv in the house. I'm not buying a third tv.

Hi there,
First off thanks for the review on steam! Second, I was troubleshooting what problem you might be running into and I think I found it. I'm assuming you've been buying the retro tv from the shop (the small blue one)? It was originally only purchasable once but players accidentally sold it so I had to change it to being purchaseable more than once, however in doing so I now realize that it's not registering anymore for Kim's quest (the one you're on). I'll change it back but in the meantime you should be able to progress the quest by purchasing the flatscreen TV, which is a furniture item you can access from your house organizer after you've bought it from the shop. If you buy that TV and display it then you should be good to go in progressing the quest.
