Bugs on trees?

I can't seem to figure out how to catch bugs that sit on trees - any tips?
No luck with the bugs that pop out the ground eother - are the places it happens consistent, so I could try setting down a trap and retry every day?

I also have no idea how the tree bugs work.

I've gotten lucky with the ground bugs and just gotten fast at swapping to the net and grabbing them, but you could do this with a trap too

The bugs spawn randomly - like sly said with the ground ones you need to be quick, but make use of the trap as well to help you out and make it a bit easier! Also, take someone with you to help out! The following townspeople love bug catching:

Kenzo
Kim
Sora
Tifa
Yumi

Some bugs actually require an NPC be with you in order to catch them too, so definitely do this if you haven't already!

Thanks, and what about the tree bugs? Ar ethey like the fly-away bugs I just need to be quick with, should I aim at the tree or behind it?

Yeah you just need to be quick with them, they are pesky, the bug catcher will help but yeah be as quick as you can with those!
