Is there any point in feeding spirits in bathhouse?

The game said that it increases their mood, but I've approached a bearded spirit with a hamburger, pressed E, and he was as -_- as before I did that. Moreover, when I did the same thing with big granny spirit and tried feeding her minced vegetables, she straight up left with a bad mood. So... how does that work? So far I see no point in this mechanic (at least when it comes to bathhouse).

Have you dug up any of the Spirit Tomes yet that tell you what each spirit likes to eat? I think their mood only increases if you feed them their favorite food.

I was given one as a relationship reward, but I'm too dumb and can't read it. Pressing E or Shift doesn't do anything.

It would be cool if the game said at any point (or that info would be kept somewhere always) that you'll need specific food for specific spirits. Because the hint on the wall of the bathhouse just shows you feeding food to a spirit, which for me implies that feeding them everything is ok.

Is there also a huge reward for using the Purifying Elixir in bathtubs when Onishi spills his purple goo in it? Because he seems to do it really often and it would take a lot of ingredients to constantly be cleaning that up.
Or does it just keep happiness levels of other spirits higher when in the tub with him?
