Thanks for playing, I'm glad you loved it! What keyboard mappings would you have preferred? It would be great to note that down - did you end up using that mapping by remapping in the options? =]
One thing though. My game actually stopped working at I think 4am in the morning (in game). Just could not move anymore. Not sure if that is a bug.
Also the sawing of woods takes a bit long. I also hope there will end up being ways to handle the myriad of hinted tasks that might be available in the full release. Would love for the game to feel cozy and not stressing.
But overall really liked the demo.
The controls are a bit odd. Having to use an in-game keyboard to enter names on a PC is a frustrating start. I am not sold on JKU shortcut keys either, but I expect this can be rebound on release.
I definitely had audio, so I don't know what might have been happening in your case.
The music is great. I actually had to unplug my headphones so my husband could jam with me during the song that plays while you're on the bus. (Note: that also led to the game freezing up for me. I have some pre-installed software that pops up anytime my headphones get plugged in to make sure my audio settings are correct for my headphones or earbuds or speakers, etc. It's messed with some other games before both with unplugging and pluggin in my headphones. Just FYI for the developers, in case this is a thing other people deal with.) I really like the emoticons and the cat! He's great!
My only complaints were the game freezing up a bit, the swearing, and the running around inside. I just feel for a game that's chill like this, swearing just takes it down in quality and desirability for myself and others; the swearing just doesn't need to be in there. Especially since the cat was plenty funny without it! I guess one thing is there were so many customers, I just felt like I was running around and couldn't take a break to leave and go to bed or go chat with people in the village or anything like that because there's just not enough time. Maybe have the customers come in a bit slower? And as features get added, like those back rubs we were told we could do, there's no time for it! But that could also be because it's the demo.
One final thing is, why were the spirits angry every time I put their towel down? They'd have the angry emoticon, then they'd laugh with their neighbors for the rest of their stay. Just wondering...
An always-run option like Stardew and some other games have would be nice.
Lastly, I know a few left-handed gamers and was surprised by how much of a difference control schemes make to an enjoyable experience. Key-remapping will probably cover that, but it might be worth keeping an eye out for left-handed responses in particular. I'd love to recommend this to my friend but I don't want to get her hopes up again.
Other than that, really enjoyable demo :3 The premise and art are great, and if you can smooth out the controls and some QoL you're gonna have a real winner on your hands.
