If you're stuck, I'm willing to help. :)
I've posted tips guides and walkthroughs for several M3 games elsewhere, as I've only very recently joined Steam. If you're stuck on a level and want some help, feel free to ask.

I can't get the red key to drop in level 131. Help!

Did you get any fishnet pieces in that "maze" when the level started? The idea is you have to swap the netted pieces (they are "free move" pieces which don't require a match to shift around) to passively move the key either all the way to the free space at the bottom of the "maze", or else just shift the key into the longer vertical corridor, and then use the netted pieces along with the joker gems to make a vertical set of arrows with a match 5. Sometimes it's a little sneaky because the pieces want to auto-shuffle in that area.

What a delight to find you here at Steam, SynthpopAddict! Here you are, kindly and generously offering tips and help, just like back at the ole pond where I fist met you when I needed some help with Seven Seas. I just joined Steam in order to get Bavarian Palace and I had the same problem with the level 131 red key as dpb1950. I didn't realize that the netted pieces can be swapped without a match - I usually just bullied my way through them with arrows and bombs which were no help at all in level 131. So, thank you once again SynthpopAddict! - you're a gem!! (pun intended :steamhappy: )

@213Killer you're welcome! I only just joined Steam myself a few weeks ago after a good friend finally shoved me hard enough to leave the site I used to buy games from. In case you're curious, I've been a member at Pond Friends and The Woods Forums ever since the "fish place" shut their forums down and have several walkthroughs and tips guides posted at Pond Friends. Can't post the link here, but try using a search engine and leave out the space between "pond friends". I'm busy working on a different WT right now, but may come back and publish the partial WT and tips guide for Origins 2 here when I get a chance. Still learning how to use all the features at Steam. :)

Hello and welcome Pond Friend! I'm just popping in to say that it's better for the game developers if you buy games on Steam because we receive a bigger share of the sale price than on other sites. Also people can use these forums, which are great!

@Grey Alien: Thanks for the welcome! I have quite enjoyed seeing how often developers participate here on Steam. :steamhappy:

In the game "help" section, pg. 4, diagram 6 "Shields". I have not been able to get through a game with Shields as, as I understand it, I have to make combos of the gem shown inside the Shield, but those gems are not an option on the board! Very frustrating. Help!
SynthpopAddict Jul 19, 2022 @ 7:10am
Hi Melissa, what level is it? In some levels, the gems for a shield(s) will not be in the same room as the shield, so you have to use whatever available scroll arrows there are to go to another room where those pieces will be available and match enough of them to get rid of the shield (the game will make a little pinging type noise when you have enough, but I usually just match for a little bit and then scroll back to the original room to see if the shield is gone yet). If you want a detailed walkthrough, let me know what level it is.

I'm not new to Jewel Match Origins games, but I am new to this particular game, so please don't laugh at me. I can get a trophy on all levels I have completed to date (level 5 woo) but I can't get one for Level 1. I've played it 4 or 5 times now but still no trophy. Am I missing something?

@Grey Alien - I've previously bought these on Big Fish Games but it seems that I've taken up residence on Steam now and for the foreseeable future. I feel much more at home here and I welcome the community pages. BFG disabled theirs a few years back. Bad move.

@gatorau if you mean getting a "perfect" for the level you have to collect all the coin bags in a level. Some of the earlier JM games had a cosmetic bug on the map where if you got the "perfect" the little trophy wouldn't appear by the level button, but I don't remember that happening in Origins 2. If you are replaying a level to get a "perfect" all the amulets which were there before will be converted to coin bags, and you have to get all of those bags too. In level 1, there is a coin bag in room 1 and 2 coin bags hiding under the piece locks in room 2 during replays.

Hello SynthpopAddict. Thank you so much, duh, I should have thought about the gems being in different rooms. I have 6 other Jewel Match games. This one has some challenges but I'm up to level 40 now. When I wrote couldn't get past maybe level 7. I was about to play some more and wanted to get back to you first. Really appreciate your guidance. Smissle

@SynthpopAddict

Thank you for your previous help. Much appreciated.

Now ... What on earth does the rotating double ended telescope do? It confounds me.

You're welcome for the earlier help. :)

As for the rotating telescopes, if you mean the moving thingies that you get sometimes for making a match of 4 tiles (you either get one of these things or you get a joker gem that matches anything) - those are called "carriages" in the game and if you click on a carriage it sends out a few missiles which hit random squares in the room. If you match next to a carriage to move it around, the more it gets moved around, the more missiles will come out of it when you set it off. The missiles mostly go in whatever direction the carriage is facing when you set it off. There are also moving bombs which you can get for bigger matches that will clear out the adjacent squares when you click on them. Matching next to a moving bomb will move it one space as well as grow the bomb a little bigger; the bigger the bomb grows, the more squares it clears when exploded.

Hmmmm ... I'll give it a whirl. Gracias.
