Two Worlds: Epic Edition

Two Worlds: Epic Edition

New player - can we discuss combat strategy?
I'm a brand new player, giving Two Worlds the college try, but I swear this game's manual seems to contradict itself. Some examples:

Ran into a ghost before I reached the end of my first objective, no weapons worked and there's nothing in the manual that talks about fighting ghosts.

I tried to add power-ups to my weapon that caused "spirit damage" but they didn't have an effect. You can't kill a spirit with spirit damage...

The manual did say, "You should always have a bludgeoning weapon in your pack, especially for undead creatures..." Since it didn't work against the ghost I assume undead means solid creatures like zombies and skeletons?

Anyway, I did dispatch the ghost with a couple of firebolts but I'm trying to figure out what other type of tools will work against spirits. Only magic?

Aside from ghosts, what other odd things must we know about certain creatures? For instance, is it really worth it to invest in shield puller skill? Does it really work when we use an axe? What other creatures are immune to weapons?

Thanks.

About to start playing this myself and would like this to be answered. I'm guessing that you would need silver weapons to kill a ghost or as you said fireballs

Not sure about silver weapons (or if there are any) but magic does work and after you get a few spells under your belt I've found ghosts are easy to kill. If you don't have damage spells, run!

Skeletons and other undead creatures must be bludgeoned (club, mace, etc.)

Not sure about Orcs because they're tough as hell at my current level. Hopefully someone else can help.

Definitely put every point you can up to your limit into lockpicking. That's an invaluable skill that gets you goods to sell and occasionally gets you fantastic gear.

Meld all the gear you can, meaning upgrade two of the same armor weapons into one weapon with greater stats by placing one on the other in your inventory. One exception is if you plan to sell and you have the available space. You get more money for selling two separate items than one improved item.

Seems weird but it seems if you have 2 or more cards of the same magic spell, you have to put all the cards into the selected skill that you want to use or you aren't casting the spell at full strength. I may be wrong but that seems like it has to happen and it doesn't hurt anything.

That's about all I have figured out so far. I was going to play a straight sword and board warrior but it seems magic is necessary in some cases. The manual says to mix up the stats instead of putting all the points into strength for warrior, dexterity for archers, willpower for mages, etc. but I feel like I'm wasting points I put into dexterity. I seem to miss about half my swings and adding points in dex doesn't seem to help. I'd rather buff up vitality. Again, maybe someone else can add to this.

I am enjoying this game, though. I've stayed with this longer than I did with Two Worlds 2.

Without magic or good enchamnted weapons ghosts are unbeatable, luckily they only appear during the night and are weak in all other way.
Especially useful:
Blunt weapons: Skeleons, Mantii, Dragons I think
Sharp weapons: Animals,
Magic: Depends on magic type
I wouldn't suggest shield puller skill, rather stun swing, except you are also using dirty trick.
