Two Worlds: Epic Edition

Two Worlds: Epic Edition

Locked Main Menu
When i load the game it goes through all the intro scenes, until it gets to the main menu screen. This screen is the one that shows network, quit, etc.. and there it stays locked. Locked to the point that I can only ctrl-alt-del and then select signout to get out of it. I am using win 10 pro 64, radeon 7800 series graphics card, 16 gb of ram, amd 8 core. I have tried various physX as stated elsewhere, the 9.12, the 9.13, even the newest, it all stops on the menu screen and locks everything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm. I have trouble with shift-tab and alt-tab. Not all the time and mostly rarely. Not all the time like you. Maybe the window which informs you about the validation number is causing trouble? Trying making sure that window doesn't come up by clicking the "do not show this again". I checked my Two Worlds log and couldn't make much sense. You however might be able to. It's in the Two Worlds directory named "TW1.log.txt."

Could not find a log file, but found an empty.txt file. This could b the log file once the game actually starts. Still no luck though, freezes on the menu screen with the item highlighted whereever te mouse happned to be when it loaded and the shift-tab box there also. nothing works, though I can move the mouse around, can't click anythin and the shift-tab etc doesn't work. stll have to ctrl-alt-del then signout. And the window with the validation number comes up, i copy to clipboard, then click close and 'then' the intro movies start until the frozen main screen pops up.

what Patty shot at: the first time you start the game you have to go to the safe node and then graphics and check the first option in the list then restart the game

I reinstalled and tried the safe mode. It openned a window with the two worlds logo and sat there with a spinning mouse. my mouse was locked into the window, but I was able to finally work it out of the window with alt-tab and moving another window. I had to close it using task manager. So I don't know what is going on or why it wont work. Another wierd thing is that in the folder that is created by steam I see gog.ico, gog_two_worlds, and a goggame.dll. I hope that isn't some gog bleedover from the steam install, or is that normal?

very strange....you might try contacting GoG...or get a refund. You might try something off the wall,,,,at the desktop right click and navigate to display properties. ....manually change the desktop icon to 100% or 125%. you should have the settings menu enabled after clicking on safe mode. good luck
Not sure (not bbeing a tech guy) you could try deleting that folder and turn off the computer and reboot the game. Also when you start the game DO NOT enable the serial number boox, just click on play

I'm using Ubuntu, so it's different, but my log file is located at:
/home/myname/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Two Worlds - Epic Edition/

The actual Two Worlds game folder is located at:
/home/myname/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Two Worlds - Epic Edition/Game/TwoWorlds/

This is a long shot and I doubt it's your probelm because this should have showed up in other Steam games you've played. Go to Steam settings->In-Game-> and disable the "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game" checkbox.

Other than that, I'd try older/newer graphics drivers. Wish I could help more.

Did you run the configuration launcher btw?

EDIT: My game fodler also has the "gog" prefix on 3 files.

I figured out the problem, it wasn't the graphics drivers, or any other drivers, it was bad installation practices or rules or whatever they use to install the game and keep track of things. My games go to my F: drive, to fix my issue, I installed the game to the C: drive instead and that fixed it. So somewhere in the coding they have hardcoded a drive letter or folder system instead of letting you place the game where you want. Hope this helps others that are having this issue. And hopefully it alerts them to fix the issue, I don't want games on my SSD.

Nice to hear. I don't think I would have thought of that.

I've been enjoying the game. Just started playing about a week ago.
