Ectoplasm detection

I can't quite understand why when using the Ectoplasm detector glass I have to also hold left mouse all the time, and try to walk and look around. Why can it not be a click once to use it, and it stays til you click it off?
I have arthritis in both hands, I am enjoying the game but some aspects such as the functionality of using an item such as this make it hard going. The fact the stains are so small and hard to see also mean you have to walk about with it holding the mouse button for longer as well. I just feel this aspect could be a bit more accessible.

Is there any way you guys could add an option toggle to automatically trigger push to talk when using the spirit box too? It seems minor, but it's a bit cumbersome to have to hold both keys. Or am I confused and just using the spirit box alone works?

I think the spirit box without push to talk key works.
I never push the button, but the box reacts anyway.

You actually don't, it works even if you don't hold the button down. Just easier that way.

Definitely needs a toggle option, though.
