After that first successful attempt solo with the Ouija board taking me down below 50% (yes I'm bragging, let me have my win) I got lucky and my next one had a Ouija board too.
Grabbed it, left the house, checked Sanity and it was on 98%, nothing much had happened while in the house.
Equipped it, walked in through the front door, asked it "Where are you" and it started "L-I-V" so I dropped it on the floor, walked out of the house backwards watching it finish off spelling out the location. Got back to the tent and I'm on 42%
So, if you're wondering why you're dying a lot when you're going solo and you - like me - used the Ouija board to speed things up then that's why... If you use it, be prepared to lose half your sanity instantly and try not to hang around.
Phasmophobia really forced that habit on to us. We switsched to Ghost Exiles from Phasmo because it has just more to do and even if you don´t need to say good bye in that game we still do it after a ton of games.
Would be nice to know how it works here.
- Found one in the living room.
- Asked it where it was, told me Kitchen.
- Said goodbye and the planchette raised up in the air, didn't know it did that.
- Back to tent.
- 44% sanity.
So, no, it doesn't look like signing off and being nice has any kind of impact... Or more accurately: it has failed 100% of the 1 times I've tried it.
I never continue a map lower than 70% now. It's very conservative I know. But the time put in to earn my purchases is a lot so I'd rather guess and leave and keep my items. But i klind of like that. The intro guide even says that you have to know when to cut your losses so that you don't lose - "most importantly, your equipment"
