LOL, I was in that game...We waited at least 10 minutes, very frustrating...The only way out is for somebody to die.
...Its sadly a broken game, (virtually abandoned at this point) and your experience can be easily dismissed as a game mechanic... Don't get me started on the complete failure of voice interaction...
...At this point, Ayboi is just doing damage control...
It's probably a Demon.
Read the description of the Demon in your Pokedex.
Haunts end when someone dies, by the way, in case you didn't know.
No, this is not damage control. This is how demons work. Demon doesn't haunt and is hard to anger, but if you anger it, it will hunt you until you die. Or it dies to salt, exorcism, or eats your cross.
It's also more prone to chain hunting because it's slow to anger, meaning your sanity will probably be 0% already by the time it haunts, so chain haunts are common.
This is not damage control, it's how the game has worked since the start, and no I'm not white knighting, damage controling or whatever, I cirticize this game more than anyone. Just stating facts.
So which is it? Permanent or very long?
Not that it matters as I will not play until they fix (without workarounds) voice interactions, and obviously there is no rush to do so.
