Spirit Box not working

am I the only one where the spirit box just flat out doesn't work. I've failed so many hunts because the ghost just says nothing with it. I ask if it can respond, if it's shy, how old it is, where it is, can it talk. I've tried it all and yet no response. My mic is detected by the game since I can do the bloody mary easter egg and the smile easter egg in the cyclone street map. Yet nothing on the spirit box.

Are you sure the ghost is a spirit box type of ghost?

When you "left click" to bring the spirit box closer to you, does it get the little power bars dancing about when you are talking?

Also I find that you don't always need to say anything; just have the spirit box in your hand and it will self activate if a ghost speaks to you.

Just a few things to experiment with.

I've had this happen once where I guessed non-spirit box ghost and the post-game report told me it was the spirit box evidenced ghost. I was in Hospital and ghost room was the first small office on the right down the hall. I walked ALL over that room and up and down a little bit the hall near that room too. Zero activation. I tried that at least six or seven times during that game because I had to be absolutely sure. Pretty sure that investigation took well over 30 minutes (i'm a solo player) and walked away with less than I was hoping.

I'm not sure if the ghost needs to just be in or near the room or if you need to be right on top of them but either way, it can be frustrating

yes they do bounce around when I talk. My frustration is that I've picked non ghost box entities since I got no responses even with the ghost nearby causing me to fail.

I'll try just walking around with the spirit box next time but it's annoying that some of the spirit box ghosts can just not respond. Either they need to up the sensitivity of the speech recognition or increase the likeliness of a ghost to respond.

Me and my friend had some moderate-to-great success by using: Hello! or Do you want to kill us? Also, make sure you read the computer screen in the tent - some ghost will respond if you are alone.

It literally has an auto answer feature. Meaning after a while the ghost will respond on it even if you just hold it in your hand saying nothing.

Never had any issue with the box. What is your name, How old are you, When did you die, Where are you, Can you speak are the triggers. Might have forgotten one.

If everything else works, i´d try and see if the game files are maybe corrupt. Or file a bug report on their discord. Maybe try reinstall?

I play solo so I'm always alone lol
