Needs controller support

Literally only the sticks work. Nothing else. I can't use keyboard and mouse without excruciating pain so I rely entirely on controller and making us use keys and controller at the same time is absurdist at best.

I don't have arthritis I have a limited space and severe back pain so I can't comfortably set up a keyboard and mouse. I would have to go full hunch back of notre dame while sitting, it's just not possible for me.

I'm glad you were able to get that figured out. The game needs some adjustments but right now it is definitely worth the price IMO. I do hope they will adjust the price of equipment and the penalty for failing. At least let us choose a ghost once we die so we can get something if our team succeeds.

Game is so worth. Its 10/10. Have played some now. Worth the full price imo

It's definitely impressive so far. They have basically taken Phasmophobia's formula and improved upon it.

Just use steam big picture and map like 2-3 buttons extra its not hard people. The game barely has any controls on xbox controller it works fine to map them to what you want...

I will literally make a public controller scheme for everyone. It will work really nice since the game already has Axis support. Give me a day or two and I'll figure out how to share it with everyone.

Once you make the configuration you have to use it for around half an hour. After that, you can go to the community tag and export it there.

I have carpal tunnel so controller support will make playing this actually possible. I just need to find out how to set it up through different methods but I am bad with tech

I suggest running Steam in Big Picture Mode. I'm not sure if it will work with other controllers* but on the Steam Controller you just tap the power button with the Steam Client focused and it will change to Big Picture Mode. Once there you can launch the game you want to play. I recommend starting the game and then making the configuration instead of making the configuration first for most games that way you can quickly access the configuration page. Once the game runs, just open the Steam overlay and go to the "Configure Controller" option. From there you just find the keyboard and mouse functions in the game and then figure out where you want them on the controller. Fortunately, Demonologist has most functions working on the controller right now. I think you only need to bind the option to drop items.

*Nearly every controller can be configured using Steam but I don't know if they all open Big Picture Mode that way. The basics are simple, you find the button on the controller you want to do X action and then choose the keyboard binding that performs that action and bind it to that button.

Howdy! Like the person above I found a solution through big picture mode. It works flawlessly, and I can't recommend their advice more

I’m also trying to play Demonologist and can’t figure out the control bindings either.
I was wondering if anyone had a dummies guide I can follow or is that public controller scheme available to download yet?

I'm incapable of playing without controller support due to disability. So frustrating when games launch without controller support :-(

I have the same problem, and it is indeed frustrating. Fortunately, we have the Steam Controller Configuration to allow us to use controllers in games without controller support. They have added support for almost every controller type out there. It doesn't work in every single game but about 99% of them will work with this method. The rest is down to finding a configuration that fits your needs. I highly recommend trying the system out and tinkering with it as you will be able to drastically expand the kinds of games you can play.

im prolly one of the oldest players here but a good chunk of games came out with controller support in mind in the early 90s and 2000's the PC had its own brand of contollers prior to usb support.
