what makes this different from phasmo and ghost watchers?
based on reading the game description it's basically ghost watchers which is a rip off of phasmo. so what makes this any different between the 2 outside of graphics? this game even uses the exact same ghost types as phasmo...... :GhostScared:

I wonder the same.

Most of my friends have Phasmo. Hard to justify to askt hem to buy a 17$ copycat of the game sadly.
All these games that try to be copycat should really have a better and more aggressive pricing to get more populated.

You know that the ghost types, or names of ghosts arent things that just magically appeared from a game right???? These are names of ghosts that have existed in real life for many many years. Yikes, imagine not knowing that.

for such a lame weird weebo loser you sure are quick to assume things. your ignorace of other ghost names/types is pretty high as well considering theres over 100 different names they could have picked but instead went to copying phas like the rest of these copy cat games. but pop off, loser.

got anything USEFUL to contribute to the topic?

Depends on how you view it. It's on a newer engine, it does have different ghosts and some different fundamental rules and tools. The gameplay is similar in the same vein that platformers are similar. Move right, jump, win (Obviously this is a very genralized and blanket statement). Try the demo out together, it'll help you to decide and feel a bit of the differences.

Better looking but much less context

As a Phasmo player I can say Demologist adds the things I miss in Phasmo. That is more ghost events you would see in Movies (such as halluzinations, changing statues into monsters, kids running in hallways, ghost standing at a window looking at you, moving chairs, burning lightbulbs, I dare you to say "bloody mary" in front of a mirror, etc.) and also for me very important ambiente sounds that go with a lot of the events. Phasmo ghosts are kind of "passive" compared to demo ghosts since there is no grace or peace time period. The whole area is haunted the moment you enter the house not just the ghost room. Phasmo feels more realistic, and Demonolgist is adding some cinematic touches.

That beeing said Demo is in the very early stages and will take the same amount of time Phasmo needed to flesh out the basics. There are only 3 maps and you only have the basic devices for gathering evidence. There aren't a lot of items that are usefull outside of checking your boxes on the to-do-list. A lot stuff is said to be added in the final release. It does not hurt to wait out a bit and take a look a few patches later.

But more content - and, I assume, more context along with it - is what the devs write they intend to add, although the game's prize will increase as this gets done.

Yikes, imagine somebody wouldnt understand the meaning and reference of the top dog product in a genre, but instead pushs his own bias and lack of understanding onto others?

And just in case you still dont get it: people reference to the top dog products because of the standards they set for a genre. As reference points.

Oh it's very cool. Phasmo was only scary the first time around, me and my friends were still getting spooked our 8th time in on the first damn map.

Though in hindsight some of the scares are a little cheesy lol. Hope they fix that

Spoiler alert?
I'd say the same as ONYX and beside all being said, Demo got an extra puzzle-solving part: there are hidden areas that can be accessed by doing/saying weird stuffs (hints are spread all over the houses). I personally find that amusing :3
